Does everyone have depth?
    #23608068 - 09/03/16 01:35 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

I bitched in the modernity thread about most people not having "depth".

Let's just agree on depth as being a combination of modesty, dignity, repose, tolerance, love etc etc. All those good things.

I hope that's cool.

So for the sake of agreeing on terms, can we just say that Depth is good things?

Anyways, does everyone have a depth to them just waiting to be let out? I like to think so. I like to see everyone as a potential diamond, you know. Just waiting to shine.

Yeah. To hell with "potential" diamonds. You're all already brilliant, damn it. Some people just haven't caught on, yet.

Depth, sure. But some people are real worthless cunts. Just because someone has depth doesn't mean they're a good person.

It is not so much a matter of having depth, which being IS. It's a matter of living in the depths of one's being vs. living on the choppy, tumultuous surface.

one view of enlightenment is that we all, already are --- but --- but u say ... --- the reason we avoid acknowledging it is because of the responsibility it entails....

makes some sense does it not?

Everyone is a divinity inside a human form.

I think we came to play a game, have an experience, learn something, or this is part of our birthing into the unimaginable.

Yeah keep it coming..we all have measurements..and therefore depth in all of us..but when you are you, alone in the world forsaken without a soul..you will realize the depth that you are necessarily. And thats the Abyss of Bliss..or otherwise Tartaros...God's Spend many Years trying to master planes as these are planes in replacement of Heaven or Mevin for example..

When I think of depth, I think of intellectual depth and depth of interests. So no, not all people have depth, many are entirely surface.

unmeasurable depths go in directions of dimensions that are not parallel to directions of other persons' dimensions.

No.

Depth is not 'good things'. it is depth

The purpose of this thread wasn't to debate the meaning of the word but to use what I thought was a generally well known perspective of it and to discuss if everyone has it innately.

There is a story of Jesus turning a boy to dust when he was 5 telling him that he had already failed God. Humans were the only being here that was made in God's image so as humans our nature is peace and purity. We all get what we deserve in the end, all debts get paid.

I think everyone has depth. What is depth though? For me, it just means the ability to connect which is something that we all have. Connection is something that were built to do.

Oh I get what you mean now. As in it's beyond labeling. I feel the same way with the distinction between occult magical power and The Divine. The later is just beyond the former, not comparable.

Sorry if that seems like a reach but it makes sense to me.

Depth is depth. But attempting to quantify it does have its place. What if someone thinks they want to become deep but doesn't really know what it means? They need some sort of guide post...

this thread has gone completely into depths I cannot fathom, which ties back to my first comment.
I am allowed to walk away and scratch my head.

I love cetaceans too - they can be very deep.
