Does this chicken bullion look ok to you?

It expired in 2014. Is it still ok for soup?

I thought it was supposed to be a lighter color, but it's been a while since I have done soup.

When in doubt, throw it out. Bouillon is cheap, throw it away and get "fresh" stuff.

Yeah I thought so. I'm just going to throw it out and make the soup tommorow. At least I will have the other ingredients prepped.

I don't use bouillon so I wouldn't know what a "fresh" cube looks like.
I'm sure it's fine, I personally wouldn't use it though because I'm a food snob.
Here's something I found.
Quote:
Does the Expiration Date Matter? Manufacturers determine the expiration date on their products, including the bouillon cubes, based on the optimum freshness and flavor. For this reason, you can still use your bouillon cubes up to a year after this date if they have been kept free of moisture, although they may not taste as good as a fresher product. Once you rehydrate the cubes with water to make your broth, though, the shelf life is reduced to four to five days and the resulting broth must be refrigerated because of the addition of moisture. Any other products, such as poultry and stews, that you make with the bouillon will only last as long as the ingredients you include with the shortest shelf life.

Just FYI, everyone.
bullion - gold or silver in bulk before coining, or valued by weight.
bouillon - a broth made by stewing meat, fish, or vegetables in water.

As a general rule of thumb, if a spice/seasoning doesn't need to be refrigerated, it'll never actually "go bad" (outside of other factors like bugs for instance). Over time it will lose it's potency or the flavor may change but it won't make you sick.

Yeah something about rubbing the balls and fingering the ass?
Anyways, it's basically salt, that shit aint going bad. If anything you may need to use more if the flavor component degrades.
