I think so too, but from the images I've seen and the info I've read the two be deceptively similar... This is my first grow so I'm a bit paranoid.

Thanks for the reply

The thing about multispore syringes is they could be contaminated, and when you start making the syringes, use less of the spore print so you have a better chance of not getting molds or trich.

I would move on to agar if your looking to improve your game.

That is healthy mycelium not cobweb. That much colonization in two days is pretty impressive if you ask me.

I'll take a wild guess and say those colonized patches are right beneath the inoculation holes of the jar's lid .)

You injected spores to different areas, so you get smaller patches of mycelium in different areas and because of that your jars will colonize evenly.  That's the idea behind inoculating your cakes from 4 corners.

Btw, you can make 20 or even 40 syringes out of a single medium sized spore print (though I get lazy and make 10) and even 1ml of spore solution per cake is more than enough.

I think I have cobweb. This is my 2nd grow. Had 18 jars and these with what I think is cobweb took at least twice as long to colonize as the others. I added them to fruiting chamber 4 days ago. Looked fine when I went to bed and woke up with white fuzz that looked like foam.  I tossed before I thought to take a pic and get feed back. When I tossed them most of the foamy white disintegrated but here is what is left. My question is if I was growing 6 different types (3 from each syringe) and only these 3 that came from the same syringe did this, is it likely my syringe is contaminated?

So since those 3 came from the same syringe, and no other cakes from different syringes are showing contamination,  would you toss the syringe?

Ok. Thanks for the quick responses. I am gonna step up my game and do Agar next round. Pastywhyte makes it sound like a dream. I guess for the cobweb contaminated PR cakes I'll try the peroxide method and see if they can be salvaged.

The right side was about 5 inches from the wall and the back side was only about 2-3 inches away from the wall. I've moved them out more and attached pics. I did 1/4" holes 2" apart all 6 sides. From left to right I have PEU, PE, PESA, CR, and GT (PR was the cobwebb and has be removed) I'd like to go monotub and agar soon. Which tek do you recommend for monos? I'll post better pics tomorrow.
