Eat truffles from jar, and close jar?

I grow ATL#7 truffles on rye. I thought to harvest some truffles for the night from jar, and close jar again. So remove some rye from top jar with a spoon, and take its truffles, and then close the jar. And maybe even to continue doing it every time I want to consume, until I finish the jar. So to avoid hassle of drying and preservation. Does this make sense?

Why are you so afraid of drying?
Harvest stones from jar and spawn the grains to bulk and you have more stones.

Doesnt make too much sense. Id just harvest the jars as needed, keeping extra doses fresh in a paper bag in the fridge. Good for months that way.

I cannot spawn to bulk. I don't have space for it. Even drying is not simple because I don't want people to see me doing it.Quote:

I wasn't aware that it keeps so long in the fridge.

Just wash in a colander, dry on a towel, roll it up in a paper bag. Yes it is amazing.

But still, will opening the jar, and taking material out, risk contamination, or reduce potency of left truffles?

Since the jar is already fully colonized (and if it was clean to begin with) I wouldnt think so. But like the others said I dont think its a good way to do it, Id just harvest and store the truffles in the fridge.
Or just dry them. With a food dehydrator it can be finished in hours.

I think the bigger problem here is it seems like you're trying to grow in a place where your felonies aren't welcome and are trying to keep it a secret. If that's why you're here asking this, not cool man. My advice is to find a place you can dehydrate your harvest and then put cultivation on the shelf until you have a place where you're not growing behind someone's back. If you keep it up, it will almost never end well. Good luck.
Thanks for your advice. Easily said by someone who people around him understand him... It the good advice that I just can't take...

It's not cool that he's putting the people in his household in danger. At least he's doing truffles so it's more discreet than fruiting shrooms. What's the chances on LE finding out about your operation?

Difficult to say without sharing enough information about his average day that he puts himself in more danger than he is already.

That's not really the point...even if the risk is low it's the principle of the thing. IMO it's no different than when a 13 year old registers on here and asks us to help him grow shrooms under his bed because his mom and dad don't approve of the music he listens to but he knows better than them and should be allowed to grow drugs.
Not to mention that from the sound of it, the people he lives with are at a minimum not sympathetic towards his desire to grow drugs and at worst downright hostile to it. Even if the chance of LE coming across it are low, the chances of his roommates finding it are excellent. At best they throw it away and kick him out of where he lives, at worst they blackmail the hell out of him or turn his ass in to LE. It's not a winning situation for anyone.
I totally agree with you. I stated that it was not cool he was endangering the people in his household. I was just curious about the chances of LE busting a sclerotia grow considering I'm doing one myself.

No. They don't. And like me, they tend not to help or give advice to those that try to do so. Unless your housemates are 100% aware of it and the risks that follow, you should not be growing nor asking us to help you, because we do not condone this behavior.

I can just say, that my wife objects strongly to this, partly because of her religious beliefs. Nothing I can do about it. I grow it in the shared warehouse of the shared building. Only I and another neighbor have the keys. I hide it, and most people don't know what it is anyway. Mushrooms are not specifically mentioned in low in my country. Although a judge/police could still hassle if they want. Anyway I see mushrooms as an important thing in my life. Helps me be a better person. Good for me and for others, and I cannot resist its call. So what I am doing is not 100% just, but I still do it. I prefer doing it then being 100% just, and if anyone wishes to criticize they are most welcome.

Whats the weather like there? Outdoor cultivation may be your way to go.

Its warm/ hot usually. Winter is cool. about 4 months a year. I have tried outdoor cultivation once and failed. And actually this is worse because people may notice you anyway. Truffles is easy to hide and works for me more or less.
