Anyone making chitinase?

I'm trying to work out a simple method to extract chitinase from the chitin in the fungi I grow. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm a bucket chemist...thinking some hydrated lime water to treat spent blocks, filter, then an acid treatment with vinegar/kombucha or oxalic acid on the remaining slurry, filter and mix with the 2 solutions, pH test, then use as foliar spray for plants.

Standard protocols I've seen usually just involve trichoderma species and a filter syringe. But what are you trying to do here?

Trying to extract chitinase, from spent blocks that would otherwise go to my chooks, to use as a foliar and soil spray. NASA worked with chitinase on MIR, it seems to give plants a boost-possibly eliciting some type of natural immune response. I've been reading about it for a while, there are protocols for extracting it from Ganoderma, but I wonder if it can be readily extracted from any mycelium?

extraction probably look into glucosamine makers for joint pain.
i think i saw something somewhere where of a video showing the proccess with shrimp shells. it would just be seperating mycelium from substrate . the route would be better to use bunk or not food safe small sized mushrooms

Like I Said almost every protocol involves trichoderma since that's it's mode of attack. Dissolves competitors cell walls...

i defintley see that. but if there was an alternative form. Chitin. chitinase, the enzyme is not the same. agreed.
so would one look into the development of manufacturing like they produce xantham gum ?

Best I can tell xanthan gum is produced using bacteria, some of them genetically altered for efficiency. Chitinase commercially, I don't know how it's produced but for a lab scale it's pretty easy.

Look into puffball species. I don't know for certain but I have a strong suspicion that chitinase plays a big part in the breakdown of the internal flesh of the puffball prior to spore release.
