is it still active if you don't 'parboil'? will it make you sick or not trip if you eat it raw/dried?
do you parboil fresh shrooms, or dry?

Just find Psilocybe species dude and all you have to do is eat them.
About your question though, maybe it has something to do with a toxin within the mushroom that parboiling deactivates, kind of like having to cook, dry or make a tea out of Amanita muscaria to convert Ibotenic acid to Muscimol (active component)
Im not sure though man

I would be surprised if you ran across this species foreal, and are not in northern Europe.  Also, I would just not mess with it.  It seems that they are not highly active, and they can vary in actives from different areas.  You would be better off getting some common psilocybin mushrooms that are regularly consumed as "shrooms" to trip.

I don't know enough about the parboiling thing, all I know is it's a low temperature almost boiling.  Like partially boiling.  I imagine there could be a chance these Pluteus salicinus could hurt you if prepared wrong, but I don't know enough about them.
