Was beside a pine tree brusing darkbrown from the bottom of the stem going up. Gills are dark brown. http://pho.to/AIzX9

Not a cube. You will find cubensis in cow dung. Im not sure what species can you post a picture of the purple bruising?

I wouldn't try to ingest that little brown dude. Im thinking you're getting some darkening of the stems original color. I would bet inactive and probably inedible.

Gymnopilus luteofolius
Gymnopilus sp.
Panaeolus cinctulus
Panaeolus sp.

These are psilocybes to look for in your area.

Edit...conocybes should be avoided as they are poisonous for the most part as far as I understand.
