Hey guys, Looking for a little feedback on a few pictures of a cake, can you tell me if it looks like a contamination? Most of the cake looks fine. Again, these are BRF and it is now day 22 of colonization, if that helps any.. let me know what you guys think.. feedback is greatly appreciated!!

Those are just metabolites, which is referred as mycelium piss but is nothing near piss. It actually has anti-contaminant qualities. Those jars seem to be healthy and fully colonized? How long have they been fully colonized?

Thanks for the feedback. Out of 12 jars, 10 have been complete for about 3-4 days now, but I've read that giving them an extra few days to strengthen was a good idea. Will grate into trays of coir mixed with h poo after giving them a 12 hr dunk soon

Waiting for consolidation for about a week with PF Cakes will give you better results and overall less risky.
I suggest you do a lot of reading before you spawn them to bulk.
Here are some links that will certainly be useful:
Frank's 12 Steps to Shrooms (a spore-to-shroom bulk tek for beginners)
How to dial in your monotubs like a boss
I'd suggest just sticking with coir for this time as it is pretty easy to pasteurize using bucket tek (which is mentioned in the first link, it actually covers everything) You can always move on to horse poo on your next grow, but if you really insist on using it as substrate, I'd suggest doing a proper pasteurization.
Frank's hpoo substrate
Frank's Proper Pasteurization Tek 3.0
Whatever you decide to do, good luck .)

Thank you tira, good advice. I don't have a PC at the moment. Was planning on pillow casing it... Will keep the Hpoo for a later date until I've done more reading and have the necessary resources. I think I'll get a better thermometer too... Will keep you posted on the progress. Here's to infinite knowledge
