Pollyfil and FC
    #23599981 - 09/01/16 04:48 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

It has been stated, that when put into FC, its best to remove all pollyfil to provide a lot of FAE.  How do you keep the substrate from drying out, just continues misting?

I been misting twice a day, and the middle of the substrate dries out and there is no pins there, but along the edges it stays wettish and I see pins growing there were its wettish.

Also, the tub feels a lot heavier from misting, as if there is water pooling at the bottom of my tub, under the substrate.

How often do you mist daily and what will be a great method to fix this issue?

Um, it's not clear what you are using.    No SGFC need polyfil.  Incremental rising and falling of humidity is fine as long as your sub isn't drying out to the bone, just mist and fan regularly. If it doesn't look wet, mist until little beads form on the substrates and fan for a minute or two.  Don't oversaturated or let water pool into puddles.

If you are using a mono, you need poly in the 6 holes that it is supposed to have.  This keeps the humidity and FAE at a constant and essentially makes it so you never have to do anything to your sub.  No mist, no fan.  If you are having to mist or fan a mono, it isn't dialed in properly.
