The rush of going on in front of an audience
    #23599900 - 09/01/16 03:31 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Just don't listen to people and express yourself.  Singing, comedy, whatever.  What does it matter?

Prepare to entertain.

I miss it. It's been almost 6 months since I have been on stage.

I have a lot cooking up in my brain to go back to the mic with.

Got a few more bass licks to write some songs.

Wrote a shit load of more jokes.

Grown my hair and beard back out.

Just need some new clothes and the right attitude.

What's your definition of happiness?

Gojira is one of my favorite metal bands of all time

If by "rush" you mean stomach aches, elevated heart rate, and sheer panic...then sure, I love that.

Used to go to a performing arts school for acting and dance.

Learned that I hated being up infront of an audience, though I had done it since childhood and loved it - I think being forced to do it for most of the day everyday, and getting exposed to the constant scrutiny frazzled me. A bunch of other people I went to school with learned to hate it too.

I started to see more beauty in the things that happened behind the scenes and took to that, particularly in lighting, and visual art in general. I wish I had started painting and illustrating much sooner than I did, because I spent a lot of time putting it off because I didn't percieve myself to be good and didn't understand that having the courage to make mistakes and fail is the first step to becoming good until much later.

I can sing, I'd like to get more involved in music in general, a friend of mine has a home recording setup and asked a long time ago to help out there, but I didn't want to for the longest time. Think I'll take him up on it if the subject comes up again in the future.

I don't play music on stage very much but I did recently for my sister's wedding and it was alright. That was with some other people though.

For my job I teach to a class of 20-30 people (introductory computer science tutorials). Speaking to a large group isn't really something that comes naturally to me and it can be a lot of stress, especially if I'm not 100% prepared. On some level it seems to be something I'm pretty good at though.

for me stage fright/ getting on stage and performing is my biggest fear. I get the same rush/panicky feeling i got when i was about to jump off a bridge, I dont think i could ever perform live...

Jumping off a bridge?  You left that quite open.  Guessing it's bungee jumping or with a parachute.  Anyone can get over that fear of expressing yourself to this world.  In any setting.  I have great hopes for you young Jedi.

Not mocking, just potential for you.
