Introduction and Microdose questions

Greetings Shroomery! First post here :-) Was going to post in "getting started" but didn't see a "post" link there. First I want to thank everyone. Thanks to the amazing amount of information on this site, I grew a bumper crop of Golden Teachers this summer! My first time growing mushrooms of any kind and it went perfectly. :-)
Unfortunately, my experience actually consuming them hasn't been good. This is my first time trying mushrooms and I get terrible GI upset, cramps and nausea. Not having "Bad Trips" just extreme physical discomfort that totally ruins the experience. I typically have an "iron gut" and can usually eat pretty much anything. I guess it's the direct effect of the psilocybin/psilocin on my gut. I've tried 2-5g doses many different ways: chew and swallow, tea, chocolates, lemon tek, empty stomach, with a little food, and nothing helps. I'm guessing they just aren't for me, but I'd welcome any advice if you'd had success eliminating GI issues.
So then I thought I'd give micro-dosing a try. I have mild depression, am currently trying to quit cannabis, and generally just curious. I've read pretty much everything I can find here and elsewhere online, but could still use some advice. I decided to start with the 0.2-0.5g every third day regimen. Last Wednesday morning I ate 0.33g. It was too much! I felt very "spaced out" and a bit nauseated and didn't feel like doing anything other than laying down. I Also had slightly blurry vision and became very emotional. Almost had to call in sick from work! I decided to change my plan and take lower doses at bedtime. Saturday night I did 0.16g about an hour before bed. Didn't feel any effects or nausea and had no trouble sleeping. I may have felt a little more motivated the next day, but hard to say for sure. Yesterday I made a bunch of 0.1g capsules and took two last night. No discomfort and effects were just barely noticeable so I think I'm close to dialing in the dosage around 0.2g. I'm still uncertain about the timing. Is anyone else microdosing before bed? It seems most folks are dosing in the morning. Obviously I can and will experiment for myself but would be curious to hear what others think. Also curious about other dosing schedules. My other thoughts were every other day, like Monday-Wednesday-Friday with a little break on the weekend? Or 0.1g daily with a day off each week? Hopefully you aren't all bored with mircrodose discussions ;-)

I got a solution for you my friend. Extract the actives with Everclear then stomach problems are just a memory.

Also, a micro dose is supposed to have near zero noticeable effects. IDK if that's what you want

I used to microdose around a year ago with libs and was mainly due to fear of the actual full on doses and I Had depression, I would dose 0.3g of Liberty caps every 3 days and this worked best for me. My life became very positive it was hard to feel down about things and it gave me a small boost also upped my motivation. Every 3 days is the way to go IMO but everyone is different. As for dosage that's completely down to the individual no one will accurately be able to help you there, trial and error as you have already been doing.

Thanks Mycologist! Why didn't I think of that? I have some everclear and will give it a try. I'm sure I can find all the info I need here And yes, I'm looking for the purported benefits of microdosing without significant psychedelic effects. I'm going to sort out some other things in my life before actually tripping again. I think that may be my Golden Teacher's first lesson!

I tested both going to bed and in the morning separately, I found upon waking to make more sense as to have a fresh dose for throughout the day and subsequent days would tap into that. I would recommend it. As for making a difference I don't think there was much, nothing noticeable anyway just upon waking made more sense to me.
