no rhizormorphic mycelium, why ?
    #2359649 - 02/20/04 01:50 PM (20 years, 10 hours ago)

Hello I am growing some cubensis mexican strain on PDA with free spore inoculation, and I didn't get until now any rhizomorphic mycelium like in the pictures in TMC. Instead I get what I think is intermediar linear type (it growes regularly from the point of inoculation towards the edges of the petri dishes)sometimes with cottony sectors (fluff over the mycelium) can someone tell me if this is normal, and if I will get any fruits at all or should I change something in my way of growing ? thanks for help Pedro

Each species reacts differently to different types of media i.e. PDa WMA etc .
You are looking for fastest , healthiest growing myc in the tray , rhizo is not always better , but is what most seek in choosing a strain to issolate .
Heres some pics to make you jones though

Very few rhizos in this first pic , but was very willing to produce , even in a tray that was in dark , no air exchange , wrong temp zone etc ...

Very few rhizos , but very willing to produce mushies .

Zoom in , these are some of the most picture perfect strains Cousin IT has ever done .
Good Luck
