How to tell if BRF jars are colonised?

Hi, I inoculated some jars about 6 days ago. However I couldn't get the spore solution to run down the sides of the glass and it settled about 1cm "inside" the cake.
There are no signs of growth that I can see yet, are there are other cues like a certain smell I could use to tell if the mycelium is growing nicely inside the cake?
How long will it be until I do see see mycelium assuming I didn't mess anything up and get contams?

6 days is early to see contams or good growth.. BRF jars can take a over a week to show.
Anything but a nice white is negative. Whatever you do, dont open them! Leave them be.

They will be all white around the glass... The bottom as well. I've never injected into the cake itself... But i imagine it shouldn't have a bad impact just be patient and dont mess with them. It will happen

For shits and giggles i experimented with inoculating a cake one time with 4ccs of LC directly into the middle of the jar. it grew normally. along side "normally" inoculated jars.

Spores can take up to 3 weeks to show growth. When we inoculate along the side of the jars, we do it to be able to see and monitor germination and growth. If you have injected into the center of the cake, then you wont be able to see the process taking place.
Youll know that you have full colonization when the entire cake turns white. Be sure to give it an extra week to consolidate before birthing. Be patient, and as stated above, dont open the jars.
