No, its not a gym. the underside is polyspore, not gilled. I think its Gyroporus castaneus. These are growing on a pine tree btw. kinda weird

Awesome find man! Where abouts did you find it? Looks like you're near some water in the photo. If it's a lake and not a moving stream, you could potentially find many more. If there are caves around, you should check them out too.

This was whole an intact. I thought it was a metal can covered in clay. I tossed it on a rock and it shattered on the ground. I then realized what it was. It pottery. Without a doubt Indian. It appears this is a good spot to look for artifact

I turned it over to the park. They said the area was home to the akokisa Indians that lived there in the 1830s. I have them the GPS corrdiants and supposedly they're gonna send archiologist to search the site for more artifacts. A little disappointed I didn't get to keep the arrow head, but now I'm upstream at a different park and beach to see if I cant find anything else

This is really cool.. even though you smashed the pottery, you should go and try to retrieve it. The materials and minerals can be studied for their content. Also these broken pieces are sometimes used to reconstruct a vase or something only missing one piece or two.
