Is this mushroom contaminated and should it be removed?

Doesn't look like contam to me. You might need more FAE.

Is it normal to get splitting in a mushroom then?

No, I wouldn't say that it is normal.
I can't think of any contamination that would cause mushroom splitting. If the
mushroom has slime on it then I would suggest you pick it off and quarantine
that cake or just chuck it and be safe.

What flush is this mycelium on? I've had a contam called verticillium that isn't too noticeable until you get into your later flushes (like 3rd or 4th). This doesn't look as bad as mine so I'm not sure but it could be a possibility, just research verticilium in the contam thread

Quoted from DreaMaTrix:
"Tell tale signs for verticilium: Deformed caps ~ caps look as though they have a 'hair lip', caps opening partially before the mushrooms is mature. Deformed stems ~ Stems looking twisted and generally deformed, stems bend toward infected side. Brown streaking ~ Can be seen on the base of the stem, tan in colour. Brown spots on stem. Grey mycelium on cap and stem ~ A result of verticilium and high humidity. Split stems ~ Stems twist and start to split.
Good luck"

That is just a mutation, nothing to worry about. But hairish mycelium on your fruits' stems are a sign of lacking FAE. You probably need more holes on your SGFC or need to fan more. Can you post pictures of your Fruiting Chamber?

Take a pic now that its grown out more. My money's on vert. That shit already looks like it has a hairlip and split stem... Definitely vert
Edit: also vert is edible. So don't worry too much about it. I'm just pointing out that it is a potential suspect of vert, and you need to work on chamber FAE, and probably clean spawn. Check out this link for a few pics of vert and other hidden contams on agar man.
