Habitat: Grows in the woods On mulch In SW Michigan
Gills: Orange or maybe actually tan or burnt orange gills. (sorry I started drying them before I thought to get a print. def a learning lesson)
Stem: Feels solid, burnt orangish color, length of a finger. 2 inches, 2.5 inches, width is 2cm
Cap: half an inch in diameter to an inch. burnt orange in color Kind of conical, but found them to be both convex and concave?
Spore print color: Sorry I'm a noob and let them dry before getting a print
Bruising: purplish?
Other information: It has a scent but I have no idea how to describe.
I would like to know if these are active. Also the one with the nipple-like cap. I was pretty sure it was in the same group. It isn't as dry as the others. But looking at them now I'm not sure.I think its gonna convex like the other one

hey I don't think they are the ones you mention. the chroogomphus caps are much bigger and spherical. also it says they grow around pine needles. there weren't many pine trees in the area I found them. they were in mulch near a ravine. and the caps aren't as dark . hmm

discount a TI's identification at your own peril...and i'm not being snarky. this forum is set up in such a way as to generally be able to trust what TI's say given the info you present.
