Just wondering where i go from here....
on my 3rd attempt. still havent had my first harvest, its still in progress. but i inoculated an agar dish using an LC i made. Two started out with pink everywhere....however i let them sit and 3 weeks later, the mycelium has completely taken over the entire dish. there is NO pink showing anywhere. not even under the myc....Should i make some new dishes and cut the thickest/best looking growth areas? since i havent had a succesful pf tek harvest yet so should i do an Li? or any other suggestions?
Im not committed to the PF tek, but im still a beginner, so i figured get some successful PF tek harvests under my belt and use up my big ass bag of verm in the learning process before i start learning on other substrates/projects.

Use a drop of spore solution only for each plate. LCs are prone to contam.
Use pastyplates tek
Use the pf tek w/ms. Not pretty but while you play with agar you Will have some results from the pf while you study agar. Wish I did it that way at first.

I had a few dishes inoculated with MS. one showed no result. the other is still in progress. it looks like the myc was growing upwards in the middle.
I did use pasty plates tek, thats why i call them pasty dishes
I currently have one BRF cake going that was made from MS. i like how fast the jars made from LC colonized tho. i havent had one contam in a jar so far (knock on wood) only when i went directly to agar with the LC i got the pink. but like i said its no longer visible.
but yeah, so i shouldnt try to inoculate anything yet using the agar? What about transfers, is it worth transferring any of the growth i have to another dish? after a few transfers will the mycelium then be "isolated" or have the desired ropey rhizo patterned growth?

If they started off pink, it's definitely not cube myc. Prolly toss them and try again.

if it isn't myc then what is it? There was what I understood to be myc and also some pink. then day by day the "mycelium" took over the pink...if it's not mycelium then what's growing in my jars made from the same LC and why are they not contaminating pink the same way?
Also the plates made with straight MS look very similar to these in terms of what I believe to be mycelium growth...I compare to what I see on here. Just saying. I'm still a rookie tho

Maybe a contam was introduced when you opened it up to shoot that plate up with your Lc.

Pink is most likey lip stick mold. Or another mold in open air with high water content. Jars unless you made them to wet to begin with take in water and hide the pink contaminate. Almost all myc molds start out white and change color based on there living conditions. And i mean almost all mold. Once its there on a plate it remains there hidden by cube myc or others. Even if you cut now its not looking good. Id bet you when you dunk your cake and fruit it that it will stall and turn black with one or two small mushroom max
