anyone got a tek that will use the micro as the main heat source (steri grain prep. ect) i dont wnat to have to buy a PC because i will have no other use for it.

in the mushroom world yes ... but i have no other use for it and this growing thing is just a part time hobby so i am tring to just use what i have

you dont need a pc, a large canning pot (10" tall 15" round 7 half pint jars at once) works great. alot cheaper to. as for microwaves, their to spotty to be good, though do a search people have done it before.

pressure cookers are cheap. can get one for like 10 bucks at a tag sale or the salvation amry/goodwill stores. just look around man, they're all over the place out there, just look for em. if you have to, you can get a mirro el cheapo PC from walmart for under 60 bucks, i think.

a large pot is good for cakes :hell i used it the first couple of time:...but it he ever wants to go with WBS...he will need a PC..it cuts time..and is never skechy

yea, go for the pressure cooker. there are other ways to get around it but the pc is the best for sterilization. if its part-time, i still say buy a pc, who knows, maybe you'll find another use for it. don't spend over 30 for pc.

In my opinon you are wasting your time and money if you do not get a pressure cooker.

The BEST rate of survival I've had without a pressure cooker was 1 jar in 12. Most times were met with utter failure.

Do yourself a favor and get a pressure cooker... you'll save yourself a ton of grief. It may be a part time hobby, but I'm sure you'd like to see results from your labors.
