Maybe you are thinking of the Pilgrams. Do you even know about James Town?

of course they arent the only influence.

No, they are from southern english dialects because they got people from the lesser parts of England before the Scots and Irish ever cme over in numbers

The lands werent 'densely' populated by natives. There is an estimate thrown around of ten million, based off the relatively dense populations on the east coast where they landed and extrapolated to the interior

Well. That makes the native population four times larger than the colonist population when this country was founded.

Im saying that is an overestimate. They were mostly hunter gatherers, so they couldnt support populations like that. They say disease killed 90-99% of th native, which is insane. I dont find it believable.

Why is that difficult to believe? The plague took out 1/3rd of Europe because they had no immunities. Disease kills man.

I don't know the exact percentage, but it's not unheard of for whole communities to die from a disease if not contained.

Those percentages are basd on the estimate that there were millions of indians in the country

It took 1/3 of europe several times. There were people with immunities, and they survived. There were also things like agriculture that suffered, so alot of starving. They were also constantly being exposed to the fleas that spread the disease.
a 90% death rate is insane. The spanish flu had a 10% death rate. Its a very far outlier if its true at all

I'm pretty sure his grasp of US history consists of random events and dates thrown into a blender. But I enjoy the banter, it's better than the funnies thread most of the time

Of course you don't need to know all of it, just the parts that lend themselves to a distorted view of social politics in America.

They weren't even natives though. :wtf:

And you're an African.

Also, I'm not certain the colonies were a majority English at the time of the revolution.
From the Wikipedia article on the 13 colonies 15% were non UK whites, another 10% were
black, and the remaining 75% were Welch, Irish, Scottish, and English with what I assume
better represented the non-English. Appalachia was heavily, heavily Welch and done say this
remains apparent to today.

Soon the US would soon accept massive waves of immigrants from central and
Southern Europe and elsewhere. And let's not forget the natives we tried our best
to genocide into oblivion

we didnt try to genocide them. we didnt genocide them. There are more peple with native genetics now then there ever have been. Their culture, which was primitive and trialistic. they didnt unite, and the Europeans won. History is full of injustice. compaired to Europe and Asia, we havent even experianced tragity
