There are more than a few petroleum based food additives.

If you're wary of plastic in food, you shouldn't eat canned foods. All cans come with a plastic lining inside of them, and it gradually wears down over time, especially when exposed to heat.

No wonder they taste so damn good!

I eat Toaster Struddles, and this is a bit of a shock. But i thought this thread would be about finding plastic parts in food, like pieces of plastic. This is more chemicals that are used in plastic. A little misleading there.

The main ingredient in gum is plastic, according to some youtube video I watched (how it's made series).

plasticizers, it's what makes plastic bottles flexible.  It's not like the chinese were chewing on hard plastic rice.

Please tell me you don't think gum stays in your stomach for 7 years.

If so then :epicfacepalm:

Distinctly relevant, I accidentally inhaled plastic fumes tonight because my broken oven apparently has a burner that transmits heat when the stove is turned on.  I noticed the smell after a couple minutes and it gave me a hella headache.  I did some research and it turns out that the fumes emitted form burning plastic are insanely toxic, and hydrogen cyanide (one of the by-products) was actually used by the Nazis to kill the Jews under the brand name "Zyklon B".

I'm sure snopes has disproved it, but i don't have to look it up because i can personally confirm it.

When i was a little kid i remember swallowing like half a pack of really fucking sugary gum. I pooped the next day and saw streaks of it in my poop, kimda like when you eat corn.

I never said I feared it. Anyway do you think they are trying to get our bodies to adjust more and more to plastic or are they doing it just because it is cost effective? Or both?

:hahthatscute: I inhale plastic all day for a living, shits like incense to me.  Some plastics smell pretty good when they're burning actually.  Maybe I will build up a cyanide resistance and become ungassable.

I don't trust anything from a website that manipulates its "facts" to favor a political agenda while disguising itself as an impartial fact-checking website.  Whether it's information about Donald Trump or how long gum stays in your stomach it's all bullshit from Snopes.  Fruit of the poison tree, and all that.
