No, you aren't cool. Quit threatening suicide or trying to justify it. What the fuck is your problem with life? Seriously? I hate self indulgent sad sack pricks who expect me to feel sorry for them. Fucker, now drop and give me 20.
Whatever 20 is.
Anyway, it ain't cool. Enjoy this time you have.
TIA.

If you can't enjoy life death will suck as well. Try having fun and living your life, I know it sounds corny but rich people are less likely to be happy then poor people. Your the one who decides if your happy or not, don't you just love the irony or do you hate it?
BTW odds are death is like the time between when you fall asleep until you dream you simply cease to exist only with death its permanent.

Hypothetical scenario:
You die. Your soul awakens with a scream, "NNNOOOO!!!!!" You chose to be here to learn certain things. Now you have to do grade 5 all over again(in soul terms) Now you start a similar life to do the same thing all over again. press * to repeat.
There is no such thing as an easy way out

When you really think about it though, is the 10% use a myth? Are dreams really useless images an organ makes up for us to re-hash our past for no reason? Why is it when as children we have automatic fears of certain things from the get go with no past trauma to warrant it(bugs, heights, small spaces, ect)? I'm just rambling now. I just think there's more to the picture than meets the eye and always has been.

Death is an illusion. Just don't commit suicide. It's the ultimate form of betrayal.

I agree, and to the other recent poster, don't get wrapped up in the what if's and theoretical garbage. I've wasted a large portion of my life on it.
Like the drummer from Rush said, anyone who tells me life has a reason/purpose I want to punch in the face. After his year long journey on a motorcycle after he lost his wife and kids.
What you do matters, don't get me wrong, but keep perspective on eternity if you believe we do go on which I do. Just a road stop here.

Cool is what you make of it. In terms of respect of proper order you are a little spec of dirt on the fabic of time. No life matter anymore then anyones death matter. We are dust in the wind. P.s. i think telling a dead baby joke is cool while holding my new born. But the slap to my penis says its not.
P.s.s if you off yourself do it with fun drugs in your system. Chances are ill see you still with us the next day.

Maybe? I think what's missing here is the biological impetus to continue on regardless. It largely runs counter to one's thoughts about death/dying. It's what prevents someone who believes they know what death is from truly enjoying that belief in the face of real or perceived danger.

I believe it. I really don't need or care for your approval. Kiss my ass is pretty much my sentiment towards people like you.
I've no reason or inclination to prove anything I believe to you.
I guess you could always eat a bullet and find out for yourself. If that's the sort of "evidence" you seek.

I dunno. seems pretty important. almost like i'm just talking to the mirror. you two seem close in a cosmic kind of way not total opposites yet. you can notice that you don't want to associate yourselves, so it like a treaty of peace between me, myself and I. The "I" holding me back from betraying myself.

I don't have the luxury of ignoring people I don't like. I believe everybody has something to offer and a part to play.
I listen to everything and everyone, and I certainly will not be intimidated by some dick head with a green name.
Talks about it being a debate, and then jumps down someone's throat for saying something he doesn't agree with. Like literally the exact opposite of the spirit of these forums. It's so disappointing they are littered with people like him.
Doesn't have the slightest clue about death then asks for evidence. I don't have any evidence you fucking nut job. All I have is what I beleive, and if you don't like it keep your infantile attitude to yourself and just shove off.
Like where's your evidence troll? Ever experienced death? All you have is empirical "evidence" from others who have, and your own ideas about it. Like it's is unbelievable to me people have the audacity to say no you're wrong about that, and they don't have the slightest clue. Or just doubt you just to be a doubter because it makes them feel better about what they believe. So stupid and pointless.

Asking for support about something we literally cannot know? The only thing you can do is believe or not believe. It makes no difference to me.
Unsubstantiated claims about death... like are you kidding me. Everyone who claims they know or believes has nothing but unsubstantiated evidence. Because anyone who actually knows and has that evidence is dead or lying. What I didn't like was him asking for evidence about a simple, simple statement.
It wasn't meant to be the magic words of death or secret of it. It was what I believe and he shot me down for it, and he knows it. Underhanded AF. How do we put down those who believe? We ask for evidence.

Asking quetions about simple statements is a way to flesh an idea, it happens all the time in this forum. It is not underhanded, it is an attempt to relate an idea to shared experience.

Thanks falcon! I wasn't trying to attack anyone just pointing out that a blanket statement was made in a debate forum. It should be questioned here. I'm not above making similar statements and miss someone like diploid or johnm or icelander to point it out.

I didn't mean it that way. Read it carefully, it says 'you will feel regret for wanting it so much.'
Someone who wants to die will regret it. And yes, there are exceptions like for people in horrible conditions in pain.

I've many times felt that I want to die and have yet to feel any regret for feeling that way. Maybe it depends on ones reasons for feeling this?
The rest of your statement said, "Once it ends then the moment before it does..." which I haven't experienced and am wondering where that view comes from for you. I have a childhood friend who cut his wrists on accident when breaking into a school. He bled out on the floor of a convenience store and came to from the defibrillation in the back of an ambulance. He does seem to regret the experience of dying because he claims there is nothing after at all and is quite frightened of the notion of dying now, where before he was quite Christian.
A second friend was in a bad car accident that split his head open and put him into a coma. He recovered but has brain damage. He had to start from scratch relearning much of his basic knowledge and his education is now minimal even though he is an adult and past the point of schooling. Emotionally he is turbulent and prone to outbursts but also one of the sweetest and most genuine guys I've ever met. I was his roommate for a few years and during that time we had typical roommate dilemmas. After telling him off one time he was quite upset and I just told him, dude, I love you and it was incredible to see how much that meant to him. Any anger or bitterness just melted away instantly and was replaced with a sincere affection.
Something very strange comes up every time I trip with him though. I get the distinct impression that he is only around due to a "deal with the devil" kind of scenario. It's a very weird experience that I do not understand. But it does give me pause when I look at him and his behaviors. He doesn't show regret.

I'm sorry to hear about those things. People have difficult lives, and hopefully something waits for them, a good thing I hope. Even if death is that release it makes sense. I said 'the moment before', because I live my life on the edge of life, I can glimpse into death very easily and yes it scares me. I don't understand though, why anyone would want that experience.
When it's time, I imagine the transition will be painful emotionally letting go and stopping the fight within.

I can't wait to die. To me it feels like the greatest adventure left in my life.

Speaking generally I'd say because the alternative looks worse

I live every day so that if i die and have 30 seconds to reflect on my life before I pass, I'll know damn well I did the best I could with my time here.

Sounds like a shit situation. What's to stop you slipping in the shower and giving yourself a brain hemorage, or stepping in front of the proverbial bus tomorrow.
None of us know when its coming, better to prepare yourself for it to be any moment IMO.
Mind you, I've had 4 near death experiences thus far, so perhaps my will has been tempered>?

In the last 3 months of my life, I fell down the stairs in the midst of a K hole (0 memory) and nearly broke my arm (but that could very well have been neck/back/brain injury) and smoked a massive dose of H, to the point that I turned blue and came to with 4 paramedics standing over me with wires on my wrists and shins.

The past 12 months of my life have been very dark. Plus, I ride a motorbike like an animal in the city daily, and there's always that 0.000001% that I'll end up with my head smashed into a solid object.
Such is life. I didn't ask to come here, and I've no choice over when I go.

You remind me of my friend Phil. Except he said he could just commit suicide if he chose too, but he said he won't choose to go to Hell. And he said he knows that is where he would go if he did end his own life. I guess

Non-existence after death is a huge assumption, based on conditioning, and tendency to go with the flow of popular opinion.
What is this experience? How can it change to suit me better? Where can it go? How is the present world I perceive related to my state of consciousness?
Better questions than,
"Is dying cool?"
