Just wondering if the 2hour PC of grains is okay for agar too? will save me lots of time and energy. thanks let me know!
also a side question-- my grains smell really really really bad after what may have been a 36+ hour soak absolutely no sprouting just a really terrible smell unlike I've ever smelled. is this ok? also its weird cus while this was a hot water soak for 36+hours, i have 0 popped kernels as well which usually always get a few. weird man. also i was gonna just throw these grains out.. i boiled the grains in the soak water, on full rolling boil, about 10mins, still no kernels popped and I just strained to double check. it looks perfect! except for the smell.. but this was the quickest steam dry I've ever seen. Im trying it out anyways} but let me know what u guys think, thanks.

36 hours is a long soak. I wouldn't bother going above 24 and even then if I do soak, which is rare, I do like 12 hours in hot water.
No, 2 hours in the pc is too much for agar. Agar only needs like 20 min at 15psi

I tend to soak for 6-12hours too.. I've just fallen very ill these past few days.. food poisoning.. terrible take out.. last time I ever eat that shit man
I usually go with the 40min PC of agar, as stated by FRANK's or PASTY's tek's why is it that 2hours is too long? I thought as long as I warm up the pc slowly as well as cool it down I shouldn't get a boil over or any other mess anyways? Thanks for your reply though, anyone else have an opinion on this?

I think 2hrs would caramelize the sugars and mycelium doesnt like that much.
As a side note, the smell you speak of is probably fermentation.

Too much water would be lost from the agar as well.
