Tubs get kind of expensive IMO. I need 3 or 4 soon. 10 bucks a piece adds up

Walmart or home Depot. Clear lids aren't essential though unless only lighting from the top.

Any big department store has tubs.
I always recommend sterlite, although I have scored cheaper off brand tubs I have also bought cheap tubs that no myc will fruit in due to off-gassing.
Also, (light) blue tubs work just as well as clear ime. I have never really noticed any difference between clear and white (or light blue) lids so long as the light is relatively bright(sunlight is by far the best) and consistent.

Can you elaborate on that? I have no idea what that means and, hell, im always hungry for more knowledge.

Ya. Cheap tubs made with whatever they used to make them (usually some type of resin) emits gasses that for whatever reason suffocates the mycelium placed inside of it and is probably harmful to humans as well.
I'm no authority on the subject so if you really want to learn more Google off-gassing and put the old learning hat on.

Get a box of a 9 stack for cheaper using the bulk discount on internet walmart. Go to the monotub factory and get some custom fabed to your exact specs. Really we havent evolved past the plastic crakable junk tub?

The particular tubs I'm referring to were darkish blue with a semi-ruff texture and were purchased at home depot for three dollars each over 6 years ago.

I like the sterite with the purple handles best
They do add up.but once you have like 25 + and you take care of them it really should be all you need if you dont run more than 2 flushes and you rotate your tubs

As seen above, many cultivators stack tubs so I don't think clear lids are considered all that important any more.

Yea I light mine from the side, not the top. Opaque lids are not a problem
