I've gotta outfit this party-pad to live comfortably and be equipped for any situation. Post your list of essentials needed to move-in. I don't want to overlook anything.

I'm moving this weekend too, but have been living on my own for many years.
Appropriate cups for the drinks, wine glasses, shot glasses, beer mugs, margarita glasses, juice cups, etc. Or like 200 red solos.
Speakers, stereo amps
Coffee tables, couches, enough seats for most of the people
Art work on the walls.

Plunger. If you don't have one before you need it, you are going to be kicking yourself all the way to walmart while nasty shit stews in your house.

Renter's insurance is another good thing to consider. For $200/yr your 35,000 worth of contents is insured against fire, flood, break in, old enemies, all that shit. Many a renters have been totally screwed when everything they own burns down or has extensive smoke damage.

Actually, I am required to have it here. Every place I've rented in SO CAL has required renters insurance. All the insurance companies want to sell you insurance (LIABILITY is required) and then try to convince you to pay more for personal items coverage, but if you tell them you have guitars and shit they balk and don't want to cover them. The last place I got coverage by taking pics and supplying the serial numbers, after a lot of hassle, and I told them I was going to complain to the state insurance board if they were going to try and sell me insurance but not cover what was actually of value. Fucking dickheads.

i LIVE IN the people's republic of california. I'm not sure if it is the state or the apartments that require it, but its in the contract. I think it is the apartments trying to limit their liability if you fuck up.

That's odd. My renter's insurance covers up to a specific amount of value, it doesn't pick specific items that can and can't be covered. When I had my apartment fire last year, they payed for everything that was damaged in its entirety, in the tune of $750,000.

I'm moving into my place this Friday, myself - first time without roommates. I've got most of what I need, furniture wise, though I have to get a decent futon because my roommate moved into a bigger place outside the city with her bf and I had her take our sectional because I've only go 400-450 square feet and need to fit a little office space, a bedroom, and a living room in there.
I also need to get a nice area rug and some shelving/modular bookcases to really tie the room together and not piss off my downstairs neighbors as much - but it's kinda hard to shop for much of anything because I just gtfo'd out of my old house and left my parents with a ton of shit in the meantime, and am renting an bedroom on airbnb until the 2nd.

Didn't know a kilo ever went for under S100. Still not a bad price per dose at all.

It was just one site that has some sale prices listed at 65$ a kilo for a bit.
Only had a few strains but the quality seems great for the price. 100 is fine though.
It's honestly worth it to pay a bit more to mix n match anyways

I just moved from the east coast to the west coast. All I had for all of my essentials was my car space and the space in a 5x8x7 box that got shipped across country. The things that you need become apparent quickly.
Furniture: Bed Space for clothes* Important because it's easy to underestimate if you are leaving your old storage options behind Place to sit Place to eat (could be combined) Personal touches. Comfort is important in a new place. Make sure you're comfortable.
Kitchen: Microwave Drying rack Toaster Coffee maker Good knife set Cutting boards 2 pots, 2 pans at the very least
Bathroom is pretty standard but: Shower curtain TP Soap
Now I'm not saying this is everything but this is a list of things that I overlooked or packed that Im glad I didn't overlook.

Will do, I think I'm good this Friday as both my parents and my brother are all helping me move because they're saints, but I might recruit you in the future for something if you accept beer as currency. I'm up a 3 floor walkup, which isn't bad in and of itself but the steps are pretty narrow and steep.

whenever someone says they're moving I ask what floor, and unless it is 1st floor or elevator I refuse to help, unless it is family. Fuck lugging a mattress up some weird ass townhouse staircase. That costs money.

Sounds good, just let me know. I'm in a 4th floor walk up, with somewhat narrow stairwells as well...and wrap arounds, so technically 2 staircases per floor. We moved on one of those triple digit heat index days, which sucked. No central air either, and being dumb we got all the big stuff before the air conditioner.

To be fair, it wouldn't be something heavy - all the heavy stuff is going up this Friday, or getting delivered and moved up by professionals(cuz I still don't have a couch) - just something awkward like a weird ass painting from the thrift store that may be too awkwardly sized for me to lift myself and get up three flights. The only people I feel comfortable accepting back breaking work from is family, or paying movers to do it.

oh no, I hate wrap arounds - I've got one, but it's nbd - I lived in a place where I couldn't fit a regular box spring up into my bedroom, I had to order one that came in two pieces.
And luckily the last tenant is leaving the AC, because I know we'll get some random 90 degree days into October.

I move in to my new place tomorrow. A month of camping / living with family/ sleeping in jeep has gotten old.
I picked the garden apartment as it was 360 cheaper a year . I don't have much of anything. My brother is going to help me. Now that I live closer to my family. I was 14 hours away before. Will be relieved once it's all done. It's a huge complex with lots of college students. I should be able to glad under the radar. Got a few interviews next week going to try for second shift. Then need to get a new head shrinker.
I've moved +200 miles many times . It's a huge pain in the ass and I always swear it's going to be the last. (This one won't unless I get a great job ) . Might try Alaska next year.
-------------------- I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

First floor only for me. Since I play electronic drums, I don't want people under me bitching about my foot stomping on the floor. Ditto with lugging shit up staircases.
Now I had a choice--I could have had a 5 floor penthouse with loft for $250 a month more, and a great view. But then I would have just sat around all the time getting fucked up and looking at the view, and not getting anything done.
