That settles it. I'm just going to self destruct. I have ruined my future so I might as well just keep working in that direction. Didn't think waking up today would be my first time to IV dope but that's what it's coming to. Here goes nothing boys, fuck it

when i had mine years ago they just wanted the money because i was out of state. never have heard of a recent dui that didn't have an impact class and at least 12 weeks of 2 classes a week dui shit. they were all 35$ a pop plus the fines and what not.
Well if that's the case then I can kiss school goodbye. If the state wants to fuck my entire future up over a night of poor decision making on my end, then I'll just start shooting dope until I OD. Seems to be working for all my junkie friends.
You need to man up to your responsibilities. You did it not the government
You could have killed that chick with your wreckless driving but you both walked away unharmed. You should be happy all you are getting is probation and classes and fines. You think shooting dope is going to solve anything... lol

The state and authorities don't give a fuck about you or your future. It doesn't care if you have the means to jump through all their hoops or not. They are like a deep deep black hole or a drain, sucking in all and everything trying to keep itself (the system) going. Pay them the money they want or they will make money off you in some other way.
And, if you truly believe your future is fucked over this minor glitch then you have lead a sugar-coated life and you have only beginning to feel the tip of the dick that is about to ass fuck you good, with the authorities or the long-arm of the law not even giving you the courtesy of a reach around.

Yea my dad is a dick. I love the guy but he is a dick.
My mom is apparently old friends with the assistant DA and is going to call tomorrow and try to get something worked out. If not then I'll just turn towards dope.

Welp, his fate is sealed guys. With his own words he inadvertently manifested it. He'll spend an undetermined amount of time experimenting, falling in love, and being ruined by dope only to go back to school and to become a counselor for drug-addiction and to help others along the way with his own experience.
See how all of this tragedy was necessary?

Will they drug test me at court, is that common protocol?
I guess what I'm asking is, am I safe to use drugs up until my court date? Even if I get placed on probation, I've been told that they almost expect you to fail your first drug test.

You should probably come to court high. The judge will take sympathy on you if they think you've got a problem.

You're not the kind of person that should be doing drugs in the first place. Alcohol and Xanax is deadly. You almost killed someone you were with. You could have killed someone else. Now you are blaming the state for possibly messing up your school.
Seriously, the best thing you can do is quit doing drugs (especially xanax, that shit is toxic) and start back up with some drug classes. Since you were only a few days out of rehab, you'll probably get the "high risk" category if not in-patient. It's highly likely you will be required to go to drug classes anyway for your DUI. You might not get probation, you might just get court supervision. But since you are underage and drinking, you might get a worse penalty than if you were 21 and had the same trouble.
For real though, you are in school. Take advantage of that opportunity. Drugs will be there when you graduate if you really feel like they are that important.

So you think they'll order me to inpatient?

Most likely not since you have school, and you'd be going there willingly before ordered to by the court. But you'll more than likely get high risk which is a step below inpatient and requires a lot of hours. Going in on your own accord shows a willingness to change.
I think the criteria they look for to classify you as an "addict" is if you have trouble stopping drug usage once you start using (does one drink turn into 7? do you drink even if you don't want to?), and if you have ever developed a tolerance.
Good luck.

Thanks man
I've been talking to family all night and my parents know the assistant DA along with the woman's brother, who is a top judge in the jurisdiction. My dad is also friends with a number of lawyers in the area whom he has known since high school, and several are willing to represent me at a discount, one even offering to help for free.
After really talking to them they seem to be taking it seriously
My ticket says DUI but I after I was released from the drunk tank, I searched my name is the county database (it's public access) and my name didn't show up on a search, although the girl I was with did. I was also not charged a bail of any sort, which is odd.
Hopefully this goes well.

Get a lawyer! See if they can fight for court supervision for you. At the least, it doesn't always include license revocation, should you complete your treatment. You'll be forced to take classes, some aftercare, pay fines, community service, and those sorts of things.
