Need some advice with a coco coir monotub.

Hi shroomerites! I've recently made a few adjustments in the teks i used so I'm completely new to coco coir, but id does seem much less of a hassle than hpoo.
I spawned 2 quart jars of fully colonized rye grains into 3 quarts of coco coir/verm mixture (the substrate was properly sterilized).
This is my second mini-mono done this way, the previous one looked extremely promising, fully colonized with thick white mycelium (possibly overlay) but after some time it just stalled, started putting out loads of myco piss and seemed to bruise in a yellowish/brown sort of manner. Still this was a solid white brick which made me really happy as it is a step forward for me.
Just before leaving the tub for about 7 days i decided that it might be dry so i just poured some water outside of the liner inside the tub. I know this is extremely stupid, got back to a bunch of contams, the mono was discarded and a few new ones were made in a similar fashion.
The new mono colonizes like crazy, has some myco piss as well, the mycelium on top is thick solid white, the tub itself is warm to the touch so it seems alive and well.
My concern is - could i be making too dry of a substrate for the mycelium to produce fruits?
I've read that overlay is extremely rare in monos, but might it be?
Maby my mycelium is whack ? its an extremely aggressive and speedy lc. Maby its good at taking over the sub but not so good at putting out fruits?
I must admit tht the first mono was opened for a peek twice a day everyday for some time before leaving it alone.
Here are some pics of the current mono, any comments would be great.

Is this too much / too thick mycelium? Is this mono too dry? it's been about a week since spawning this one. I opened it just once, and put ome additional polly fil to make some co2 condensation.

How many quarts of water ? It looks like cauliflower I think it's bacterial but do you have plastic over top of it? You should upload to the shroomery man

You probably can still get some shroomies out of it but I'd keep it away from your other projects

So is this mycelium or some kind of bacteria/both? What went wrong here I've never realy seen a contam thats pure white and has metabolites coming out of it. Its a nrmal classic monotub with a plastic top

Well the myc is just contaminated with some sort of bacteria and the metabolites is the myc trying to fight off whatever it is ... and more than likely you had some funk in your grain and need to clean it up did you use agar or straight spore syringe ?

It was an lc made in an rather unsterile way to be honest. So whats the gameplan here? Just wait it out and pick whatever shrooms grow out, or just toss it? Cover with verm?

Ya lc or li should be done from a wedge of agar I trued with spores when I first started and it was a horrible outcome ... most people will tell you to toss that fucking abomination but you can get some fruits but it's up to you?? I wouldn't add verm to it it will definitely trich out because it will give whatever that is more vectors and micro climate to germinate
