Golden Teacher
    #2358638 - 02/20/04 11:05 AM (13 years, 2 months ago)

I'm going to be attempting my first grow with the Golden Teacher strain. Any advice for a beginner? And is there anything in particular I need to know specifically concerning the Golden Teacher?

Medium speed colonisation, Creeper is twice as fast IME so about as quick as Australian and Amazon. But it has a very thick mycelium and gobbles millet grains to the point where you can hardly see them through the glass. Doesn't like high temps to fruit, but at a cool 22C to 24C, it fruits best. Even pin-sets are not hard to get as it's often uniform rather than erratic. Further flushes often result in large solitary fruits.

However, it does tear up cases when picked, so expect to patch the craters.

Quite a pretty strain.

All up, a good easy strain that's given me some fun times and some beaut visuals. Wise choice.

Thanks Starter

I'm completely new to all this, and I plan on using the PFtek.

I'm not sure what is meant my "tearing up the cases" and "patching the crater"

can you simplify for the newbie? :tongue2:

jono1, liquid mycelium to PC'ed millet, cased.

Cornelius, if you're going PF cakes, you won't have to worry about a case layer -- unless you decide to case your cakes.

But in short "tearing up the cases" means the fruits are tenaciously attached and as a consequence you have to repatch the "craters" (holes) caused by picking off the fruits. Just have some extra casing material, be it coir and/or vermiculite, at the ready.
