Whats the weirdest/funniest/most disturbing thing you ever did for money?

This goes all the way back. If you ever as a kid ate a spider for a dollar and nothing you did tops it, then that's that.

The most out there thing you ever actually did for money.

It isn't my most disturbing, or even out there experience but when I was homeless and panhandling, some guy actually paid me to be his therapist and listen to his problems for like half an hour. He's literally said, "you know what man, I'm going to pay you to be my therapist."

When I was 19 years old a guy almost twice my age paid me 50 bucks to..

Lick my feet.

Honestly. He asked me not to wash them for a while in preparation and then, well, I earned my 50 bucks.

I turned out to be quite ticklish and found it quite hilarious so perhaps he got a tad more mileage out of the humiliation than he bargained for but, all was well.

Its all he wanted, just that.

Most disturbing thing I ever did for money;

I sold my friends electric guitar that he left at my house after we got in a big fight. I told him a few months later and paid him back though.

More disturbing things from my childhood;

I took 50 bucks out of a dead guys wallet.

I once took 20 bucks out of a drug dealers wallet and bought drugs from him with it.

Cashed in my friends parents coin stash which was about $100

I have so many sins to confess if I can remember them all.

I stole $200 from my brother when I was maybe 12 or so.  If I just saw it laying out I wouldn't have taken it but he had it in an antique PO box or something with a dial combination lock.  I studied the lock as my mom had given us each one, so I had the same lock which you could see all the workings when you opened the door, and I pretty easily cracked his lock when he was away one day.

It felt like I had to follow through with the heist at that point and I got carried away.  I never had that much money and split the take with my cousin went on a spending spree at the mall, then later that day got caught because I left a $50 laying out in plain view on my dresser.

I always felt bad about that, but I was just livin' that thug lyfe.

Come on people! Entertain me with some of the dirty past experiences you can remember or dig up!

I'll add a couple more:

Don't ask me why, but I was really addicted to spice one. I have done some dark things I have never done before or ever again to keep myself and my significant other in synthetic-cannibinoid-look-a-like substances all day and night.

One time I ripped off a 20 foot aluminum gutter off a garage in an alley during mid-day. I folded it up over and over by stomping on it, crammed it into my back-seat then took it to salvage. When I got to the salvage yard they had some new employees working, so when they were weighing it out I leaned on the scale for more weight. It even had some calibration error message on the screen at first, but then it went through.

I've stolen the huge batteries out of heavy-duty machinery and junked it. I stolen keg taps off of porches and returned it to the liquor stores (50 dollar lick).

I've both car-hopped for money and materials to steal and sell and fucked in random cars (not for money, but for fun).

This one time I actually jumped the fence at a salvage yard off the bike trail late one Saturday night/early Sunday morning to steal HUGE spools of copper wire (ground wire from telephone poles). Then come monday morning I sold it right back to them. True story.

The Struggle WAS very real (to me), folks.

Haha that reminds me of this time as a kid: My friend and I were rolling around the neighborhood in my car getting high. We were either really bored or real rabble-rousers; my friend was shooting bottle rockets out the passenger window. We were passing my adjacent neighbors house and he shot one out and it flew right into an old christmas tree they had pulled outside their door-step (it was a day before new years). This was like an upgraded bottle rocket: it had flares or someshit that shot off with it, so it immediately lit that old christmas tree up in flames. I freaked out, stopped the car and pulled the christmas tree to the other side of the street to the ditch. It was a vacant lot. I had dragged the tree through a direct route across the front yard and it caught the entire yard on fire. The whole fucking front yard was smoked black after we put it out. Then we had to put the ditch out because the tree caught that on fire. Amazingly, no one was outside so we jetted. I got really really paranoid later and told my Mother about how I supposedly was driving by and noticed the yard on fire so my friend and I put it out like good volunteer fire-fighter samirtans. She forced me to tell the neighbor when they got home. I felt like a utter piece of shit... I was a party in torching this ladies front yard, then I had to go over and act like I was some hero to avoid Arson charges.

But hey, the grass was sooooo green and thick after it grew back in!

Maybe in Canada, but here in the USA, selling a few grams of weed to friends is an act of love, not survival.

Damn trees, that's gnarly. And hilarious Asante.
I face fucked this weird gay dude a few times for $100. Really liked it for some reason. Liked to be slapped around and treated like a little bitch too. Was odd.
Also I worked decommissioning septic tanks/hooking to sewer for around a year, until I fell in neck deep. Speeding the whole way home, throwing up. Showered for two hours and doused myself in rubbing alcohol. Was thinking about quitting anyways but the money was good... Then that happened and I bailed.
Another bad one was cleaning out a meth lab/whore house. Pretty sure hazmat should have dealt with it. There was a fucked up dungeon and toys n porn everywhere. Blood stains galore. Garbage bags full of cut open lithium batteries. Garbage and piss all over everything. They were aiming to spite landlord after eviction. Was like a horror movie in there.

Have a feeling this is gonna be a good thread, good topic OP. :cookiemonster:

In the summer of '04, my friends and I traveled/lived in a van. We counterfeited money to buy drugs and pay for all traveling expenses. I never dabbled in counterfeited again after we were almost caught and sent to federal prison.

I use to drive this girl who was addicted to meth to her methadone clinic that was several towns over. I guess I only did it for gas money though cause I felt bad for her. I probably got a little more cash than the gas I used. I did it cause I felt sorry for her and I didn't even really know her. She decided I was a genius though and as she was pregnant she asked me to help her name her daughter and classy historical name. I suggested "Drusilla" as it is an aristocratic Roman name and the girl really liked it. The baby was born with undeveloped lungs and died but the grave does read Drusilla.  So that is weird I guess.

I forget honestly.
Something like:
$10 to get naked
$15 for kissing
$20 for blow job
$30 for sex

That's probably a little off, but it was somewhere around that price range.

Sometimes we would get rich old men who would drop $200 in a night to watch us get kinky.

It's some nice pocket change when you get several guys like that in a night.
We were pretty poor at the time too, so it helped a bit.

Yeah actually 200$ isn't bad. I'm just trying to rustle some jimmies I guess. I'm not sure I'd fetch 200$ a night if I were selling myself

I had a job once where I had to sit near photocopiers in various schools and keep records of everything that was copied. There's some kind of licensing arrangement where educators are allowed to make copies from books in circumstances that otherwise would constitute copyright infringement, so the record-keeping determines who gets paid for the use of their works. A few of the teachers were pretty annoyed about it.

I had an internship at NIH one summer. One of my jobs was to sacrifice the research rats. Because of the nature of the research, they could not be killed with drugs. I had to use a guilotine to cut their heads off, then extract their heart, brain and liver.

Not any particular species per se, but every now and then I'd get a dog that had an extended stay here, and it'd be harder because we had gotten close during the time it was staying there.

Rats, I could deal with doing that. I think. It would still suck, but it'd be manageable.

But larger mammals, especially dogs and cows and monkeys and dolphins.... I would have a difficult time killing them so personally with my bare hands like that.

Once, when I was in North Dakota, I met a car salesman who was in a bit of financial trouble.  He offered me 50,000$ to kidnap his wife and hold her for ransom.  I accepted the deal, and he gave my partner -a guy with crazy eyes- & I a new car (new back then- this was the early 90s).  Anyway, long story short, we kidnap the wife and keep her hostage in this crappy cabin on the edge of a frozen lake.  In the end, I had to kill the wife, my partner and I had a falling out, and I stuffed him into the fucking wood chipper.  Never saw a penny of the 50K either.  Not my best week ever.

This wasnt for money but back in highschool me and some friends snuck into someones garage and stole almost a trash bag full of cans of beer.

These people had a whole fridge dedicated to their beer, it was almost a little sad. There had to have been three 30 packs in that fridge.

Only time i ever stole from someone.

Ehh yeah stealing is a shitty thing to do. Like i said, it was the only time i had stolen.

I felt kind of bad afterwards, but i was pretty dumb back then.

That was a dumb thing to say i guess.

Its just that id never seen that much beer in one place. They had them all out of the box and lined up all nice and everything too.

Bruh that's some easy mother fuckin money.

If some gay dude asked to suck my dick for $500 I would let that niqqa slob all over my knob. It's not gay to get your Dick sucked by a dude as long as you ain't enjoying it or getting off to the fact that a dude is sucking it. Especially if it's for money, if it's for money then it's 100% not gay at all. I mean yeah i would way rather have a girl sucking it but if it's for money and then let that mans get sucky with it yo

It was a billion.  Another million at this point wouldn't be worth it.

Most definitely. 100 million, spent wisely, could have a significant positive impact on a lot of lives in this world.  What's a few minutes of humiliation in comparison to that?

But what does that say about the horny benefactor who would require a humiliating sexual act from you in order to part with such staggering wealth? That money could be used to help a lot of people out of pure and simply philanthropy, without any sub-surface satanic ritual or sexual gratification involved.

I have no control over his morality or lack thereof.  If I have an opportunity to make the world a better place with relatively little effort, I'm going to take that opportunity.

The truth of this world is scarcity.  There are unlimited wants and limited resources.  There are more people than the planet can support in anything resembling a first-world lifestyle.  There will always be people with more than other people.  YOU are one of the privileged, and you choose to keep your privilege, as do I.  We're no better than the billionaires, morally.  It's just that sacrificing one billionaire would level the field far more than sacrificing ourselves would.

That's a bunch of bullshit and you know it ,the top 00.1 percent of the U.S. Population has something like 60+% of the nations wealth. I'd have to find the study but it's almost common knowledge

That's perceived wealth and nothing more, what happens when that same money enters into the hands of the peasants?  It gets spent and loses its purchasing power very quickly. The billionaires don't spend their money, they hoard it.

How is the top elite having more money they literally know what to do with scarcity?

Well, they do spend enough of it to keep luxury service businesses afloat, high end restaurants profitable, mansion builders employed, pilots and chauffeurs on the job, and pencil pushers pushing pencils going. But when it comes to unconditional charity, never. If they do, there is always a favor required, or a return on investment necessary. Publicity, recognition, awards, or a library named in their honor. They are so rich that money ceases to even give them a boner anymore. They seek power and even more power. They even go so far as to strive for material immortality. There are two kinds of Billionaires, though. Nouveau riche and Bloodline Elites. The Nouveau Riche are in over their heads and only tolerated by the Bloodline Elites insofar as their utility. But make no mistake, they will get done in by the Bloodline Elites in a second, the same as any commoner or peasant would.

Yes, when I mean they hoard it I mean they only spend a very small percentage of total wealth, the rest sits there in stocks, bonds, real estate, and cash.  That money isn't flowing through the economy like it would if it was in the hands of the peasants.

Their wealth is nothing more than perceived wealth, it doesn't buy what people think it could buy, money is a human construct and nothing more.

It's important to comprehend the difference between the Nouveau Riche and the Bloodline Elites. A lot of people don't know. They think it's only about dollar signs.

Donald Trump is Nouveau Riche. His wealth is from grandpappy. It's 3rd generation wealth, forged in the furnace of the American Dream. Hillary, though not the direct heir of a millionaire, herself, has been conscripted by the dark lord and is working on behalf of the Bloodline Elites. She is connected to their New World Order through occult ties. She's the Queen Witch.

Vote Donald Trump 2016

Putting aside that the narrative often goes to the victor, there is much common knowledge today that would have been conspiracy theory yesterday. The British Army thanks our grandparents for not raising a stink over their meddling in Arabia leading up to World War 1. And Hitler's senior citizen aged corpse says hello from Argentina.

I don't think so, the strain on energy would make it impossible to meet those needs.  Could the world function with $500 per barrel oil?  NO.

By physically possible I mean there's no physical law or mathematical constraint preventing that standard of life, in a hypothetical scenario where the price of oil is $500/bl, and everyone is living in first world conditions, I think it would also be fair to assume that the energy grid would be adapted to support alternate sources of energy.

Yeah, he's not thinking outside the bun. We would still have to use some oil petroleum, but not nearly as much.

A combination of nuclear, hydroelectric, wind, solar and geothermal energy could easily power everything in the world.

We rely on oil for more than most people realize, it's not just a matter of car fuel and electricity. If you look around your house, every object in the room is somehow related to oil in some facet. Cities are built with it. There's literally nothing we do that isn't touched by oil somewhere down the line. Oil is on par with water in it's importance.

A combination of all those different sources of energy has the potential to meet the energy (electricity) demands of the current world many times over. Coal and natural gas account for the majority of energy production anyway, the majority of oil consumed is used in transport applications that require a high energy density fuel - a property not exclusive to petroleum based fuels.

Oil is important, but as a fuel and energy source it's replaceable -- not that the $500/bl example is relevant because energy production is completely scalable.

Sure, oil is important but it's not a limiting factor in societal development because of its abundance. There is enough oil for the population of the world to enjoy a first world lifestyle.

Potential?  Not with current technology.  Wind and solar has the limitation of not functioning 24/7, and storage technology just doesn't exist to bridge the gap.  Hydro is only producing about 17% of the world's energy and hydro output is increasing slower than consumption.  Geothermal has the potential to produce about 200 GW of power...less than 1% of current world consumption.  That leaves us with nuclear.  Nonrenewable and very expensive.

Of course, if we start developing more efficient ways to run cars, planes, boats, and trains on stored electricity, then we'll use less oil, but that's only going to add to the overall electricity problem.

Today, 2.5 billion people don't even have access to a toilet.  A first-world lifestyle to them is a distant dream.

If 2 billion people live the first world lifestyle, and 5 billion don't, and hypothetically everyone started using the same amount of oil resources at once, you'd see oil deplete 2.5 times as fast as it currently is. Given that some people estimate the current reserves to last another 53 years if current production rates remained the same, that would change to 21.2 years instead before most of the oil reserves were tapped out, assuming some countries weren't hoarding for themselves and it was equally distributed by population density.

Assuming oil reserve estimates are wrong and we find new ways to extract, you could probably extend it to 30 or 40 years world wide if we continued at current rates adjusted for the other 5 billion people (as a liberal estimate of available oil that hasn't been accounted for), which isn't too realistic as current production rates would skyrocket if everyone were burning it up as well, and it would go up as world population increases. Essentially, the effects of first world lifestyles wouldn't be realized before the oil was burned up.

@PatrickKn
I don't think those estimations hold water.

Quote:

Generally 'renewable' relates to harnessing energy from natural forces which are renewed by natural processes, especially wind, waves, sun and rain, but also heat from the Earth's crust and mantle. Although it shares many attributes with technologies harnessing these natural forces – for instance radioactive decay produces much of the heat harnessed geothermally – nuclear power is usually categorised separately from ‘renewables’.

Conventional nuclear power reactors do use a mineral fuel and demonstrably deplete the available resources of that fuel. In such a reactor, the input fuel is uranium-235 (U-235), which is part of a much larger mass of uranium – mostly U-238. This U-235 is progressively 'burned' to yield heat. But about one-third of the energy yield comes from something which is not initially loaded in: plutonium-239 (Pu-239), which behaves almost identically to U-235. Some of the U-238 turns into Pu-239 through the capture of neutron particles, which are released when the U-235 is 'burned'. So the U-235 used actually renews itself to some extent by producing Pu-239 from the otherwise waste material U-238.This process can be optimised in fast neutron reactors, which are likely to be extensively deployed in the next generation of nuclear power reactors.

A fast neutron reactor can be configured to 'breed' more Pu-239 than it consumes (by way of U-235 + Pu-239), so that the system can run indefinitely. While it can produce more fuel than it uses, there does need to be a steady input of reprocessing activity to separate the fissile plutonium from the uranium and other materials discharged from the reactors. This is fairly capital-intensive but well-proven and straightforward. The used fuel from the whole process is recycled and the usable part of it increases incrementally. As well as utilizing about 60 times the amount of energy from uranium, fast neutron reactors will unlock the potential of using even more abundant thorium as a fuel (see information page on Thorium).

Using a fast neutron reactor, thorium produces U-233, which is fissile. This process is not yet commercialised, but it works and if there were ever a pressing need for it, development would be accelerated. India is the only country concentrating on this now, since in a world context uranium is so abundant and relatively cheap.  In addition, some 1.5 million tonnes of depleted uranium now seen by some people as little more than a waste, becomes a fuel resource. The consequence of this is that the available resource of fuel for fast neutron reactors is so plentiful that under no practical terms would the fuel source be significantly depleted. Regardless of the various definitions of 'renewable', nuclear power therefore meets every reasonable criterion for sustainability, which is the prime concern.

Sustainability is not an issue with nuclear power. Nor is cost.

Quote:

On average, in 2011, nuclear power had the lowest electricity production costs at 2.10 cents per kilowatt hour, and petroleum had the highest at 21.56 cents per kilowatt hour.

There are more people than the planet can support in anything resembling a first-world lifestyle.

This sentence is what I was disagreeing with, not the feasibility of switching from oil to an alternate source of energy for transport reasons. There are enough resources on this planet for the entire population to enjoy a first world lifestyle.

Yes there is enough oil, but at what cost?  The US shale oil is already shutting down because it needs $70 per barrel oil to breakeven, many offshore oil would need $130 oil to breakeven, other deposits would need even higher prices.

How would the world function with $300 per barrel oil, it wouldn't.

I used to own a piece of a restaurant with my old boss. We had live music going one night and he paid me $100 for every old lady I would dance with at this big table of them celebrating a birthday. I danced with 5 of them and busted some sweet Fred Astaire type moves. Totally made their night and I walked with $500. I was 26 and they were all in their 60s. Good times.
