Gills: dark black/brown Mottled, gills have white edges
Stipe:dark, covered in fibrils .1 inches thick, hollow, white base
Cap: inch wide, tan cap with brown ring on the margin
Spore print: charcoal black
Bruising: not all bruise but some blue bruising on the base of the stipe
Location: south louisiana, 30 miles north of the gulf of mexico

The mushy on the left may be, the right not so sure about. Which one of the two photographed bruised blue, if any, or both?

They look like a Panaeolus sp. I don't think it's P. cinctulus though.

A gill shot, a spore print and a close up shot of the stem would help.
You might eventually need a microscope to get to species.

Holdthedoor: the left one looks difficult to tell if it turned blue but it did darken on the base. The right I don't know.

Anglerfish: I wasn't aware of paneoulus sphinctrinus (if that's what you're referring too). The spore print is black...not brown. The cap is so small its hard to take a picture. What's the distinguishing features for the gills and the stipe between cinctulus & sphinctrinus?

I live near an old racetrack and there are horses everywhere around here.

They're not really turning blue. It might not be cinctulus. I've been picking these for over a month and only some would turn blue.
