I bought a spore syringe from freespores.com. I inoculated a LC. Today is 1 week and nothing. I have had success with the King Oyster syringe i bought and it has a nice white cottony cloud. So i have done it right the oysters are in the FC and doing great. Here is a pic of the P. cyans LC and a pic of the oyster LC. I know that the P. cyans spores are black and i can almost count them in the syringe.http:// http:// Is this normal for tha amount of spores i should get? Freespores will not reply to my calls nor msg.'s on their site.
-------------------- I have picked wild mushrooms for over 30 yrs. I built a grow room for mushrooms in the early 90's and grew oyster mushrooms with great success for the first attempt. Out of 20 bales i only had to throw 3 out because of contamination. Now i want to grow again. I currently have King and Blue oyster mushrooms in the GC. The mycelium is going nuts. It is growing through the cardboard boxes i used. I also have some in plastic bins and one container growing on cardboard. In two containers the mycelium is like cotton and over an inch tall....

That's millions of spores. The smallest speck you can see with your eyes is 10 million at least.
Better run those past agar. Prints and syringes taken from outdoor species are usually filthy.

2 weeks ago I purchased ten syringes from freespores.com. This has been one of the most disappointing grows I've ever had in my life. Out of 10 syringes plus their extra free one of course, I inoculated 12 jars of grain. I used the full 10 cc's in every jar. So, I've had ONE, that's 1 (ONE!) syringe that had viable spores. That's again one syringe out of 10 plus the extra free one which makes 11. One viable syringe out of 11 from freespores.com. I emailed them but I have received no response as of yet I don't know what they will do to make it right but I'll keep you posted. Between grain and spores I'm out about 200 bucks. So very very disappointed!

There's so much wrong with this... Don't name vendors first of all, it's in the rules. Second, full syringe per jar?! That's ridiculous and will only cause problems. You need a drop, seriously. A single speck of spores is more than you'd ever really need if you could split it up.
Why buy ten syringes anyway? A cube is 99 percent of the time a cube. I can see buying more than one if you're going for novelty stuff like AA+, KSSS, APE or PE I guess.
It sounds like you did very little research and wasted a ton of money.
Also, you should make your own post rather than threadjack another.

The agar media failed to produce for the pans...THe oysters are going great. I will stick with oyster mushrooms..alot easier and i am sure they would taste better than the pans..lol. Someday maybe it will be legal to grow them. Then i will take on the challenge again. Thank you to all that gave advice to me. Just did 2 more rye grain jars for Blue oysters and the agar jars for the blue oysters are doing great after only 3 days....
