They are just standard coffee filter paper material, cut to a small round size to fit the aeropress device.

I was looking into using these myself but I couldn't find anywhere that listed the pore/micron size of the filters that come with the Aeropress.
I have an Aeropress and shitloads of the filters, so they'd be handy to use but I'm unsure how well they'd perform if they got damp. They're a one use kind of thing so I wouldn't be able to tell you how long they'd last under any repeated usage.
Also, if you like coffee, buy one. No overstatement in saying it's a game-changer in the way I think and drink Coffee, awesome little device.

Hey I'm pretty noob, but fwiw I just improvised my own Aero tek on my first cake to grain transfer. I knew the grain jars would need to breathe, but didn't have any polyfil around and basically wasn't prepared but wanted to make it happen.
I made a pretty big (~1") hole in each standard metal lid, grabbed some Aeropress paper filters, and glued them around the hole with high-temp silicone (red RTV). I even forgot to cover with foil when I PC'd them. The silicone sets in one PC cycle. Those grain jars colonized nicely over the last week with no contamination, so I guess this improvised lid tek works with the Aeropress filters.

Put coffee through a 0.22 micron syringe filter for injection.

I've been using some stick on filters for about 6 months now. The pore size is .22 micron and they have a nice 3m adhesive. I've ran them through 3 cycles and had nothing contam but usually play it safe and just run them twice. I've tested them with a jar full of liquid and they hold up.
Would really like to examine them with a microscope after a few sterilizations to see if there is a variance in pore size between some fresh ones.
