Trouble identifying in Nova Scotia
    #23583875 - 08/27/16 03:14 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Habitat:
Central Novia Scotia, growing on shaded, north-facing lawn.

Gills:
Cream to brown colored, unexposed

Stem:
1.5-6cm tall, 3-15mm wide, cream-colored with no visible bruising, solid and woody yet spongy/squishy.

Cap:
5-15mm wide, near equally as tall, dark brown to nearly black resembling a chestnut, looks wet and feels somewhat sticky.

Spore print color:
Due to the unexposed spores, I was unable to determine.

Bruising:
None visible..

Other information:
Doesnt stink but doesn't smell great, seem to grow on or around underground  roots of a specific large tree, just having a damn hard time finding what it is. Somewhat resembles a golden teacher, but still not sure.

Cyclocybe (formerly Agrocybe) erebia or something very close. Let them mature and take prints for confirmation.

Hey thanks! With the wide range of cap colors I think you are into something.  I'll have to go back to see if I can find some mature specimen.
