Swimmer's ear pain

Well I have a particularly bad case of otitis externa (swimmer's ear) and it only seems to be getting worse. I mean the inflammation and swelling has gone down a lot but the pain is still very much there if not worse, I went to the doctor 2 days ago and they gave me antibiotics and so I've been taking them but they're not helping. I mean maybe they are but regardless what should I do about the immense pain?
I mean it hurts fucking BAD way worse than any kind of simple ear infection that I've ever had I mean this is borderline unbearable. Actually I'd say it is unbearable and ibuprofen does nothing.
Do you guys think hydrocodone would help treat the pain? I haven't used it in several years but it was very effective for mitigating pain from my wisdom teeth removal. I wanna see if I could get some either off a dealer or even go to the doctor's again and somehow convince them but what do you guys think I should do? Do you think there's anyway the doc would even give me these meds? I really can't think of anything else to do for the pain other than decently strong pain killers.

maybe you could get some anti inflammatory substance into an eye dropper and drip it in there. or a local anesthetic.

Take an eyedropper and drop 3% hydrogen peroxide in your ear. No higher concentrations, 3%
It starts foaming and comes out. Repeat daily and you'll fight the infection quite effctively.
Do not use when you got perforated eardrums.

Lol ok well I have no way to tell how my eardrum is but the one they gave me is 6.5%
So is that too much?

On your own initiative you should get no stronger than 3%. If the doc gives you stronger, fine, go with that

What a coincidence, I just ran out . But in all seriousness, hydrocodone should do the trick. I've had ear and dental problems for years and have had to self medicate with hydro and oxy. Only things that really work besides cannabis (and it's only good for an hour or so, unless combined with one of the above).

Yea well the cannabis works but only for after the first 30 to 40 minutes of intoxication. In the beginning it usually makes it worse, I don't find it very effective for ear pain in particular.
I took 5mg of the hydrocodone an hour and a half ago though and smoked a little weed and feel great now. I thought I would need 2 or 3 and plus I wanted to feel high but just 1 is good for me lol. I don't want to take more and ruin this good feeling. (It's been over 3 years since I've taken hydrocodone and have been sorta inclined on trying to get my hands on some ever since) haha

You could try a little tea tree oil diluted in water as ear drops to help with the anti-biotics - are the antibiotics ear drops? Just out of curiousity, I used to get ear infections a lot as a kid because I was in the water constantly.
I started using this as a preventative measure. https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/swim-ear-ear-water-drying-aid-drops/ID=prod1575-product

They're drops ya. I used to get ear infections before as a kid and took pills that were antibiotics I guess but the difference is that this is just a lot more painful.
I think the drops themselves are a mixture of half steroids half something else like something to heal it. Thanks for the suggestion too.
