How long does HPPD / Visual Snow last? It's worrying me.

I took 1 tab of acid. Tripped for 12 hours. EXTREMELY visual trip, overwhelming at times.
For about 8 days after the trip I became anxiety ridden 24 / 7. I was having constant panic attacks. I was not myself at all, it was very scary. I felt very disconnected.
Anyway it's been about 2 weeks and I feel about 85% back to normal lol. Been having trouble sleeping still, but it's improving. There's just one lingering issue....
My vision. I've had what people on here refer to as Visual Snow 24/7 ever since I took that tab. Not intense or to the point where it affects my day. 1-10 id say like 2. I still have slight tracers too, especially from lights of any kind.
It seems like lights are faintly flickering in my peripheral vision when I look straight ahead and stare as well. Or watch tv or any digital screen. Street lights / head lights/ traffic lights, etc. all have a halo of light around them. Like a blur of light.
If I look directly at lights they have a spiky halo around them (like a halo still but all spiky like when you squint). Especially headlights on cars.
When I look at the sky there are white zipping things randomly and dots and specs. Like a bunch of eye floaters basically going all over the place.
And when I close my eyes at all, even when I'm tired, I still see a faint static overlay.
When I smoke weed or wax it intensifies all of these effects.
From what I've read my other effects mean I have HPPD.
The "HPPD" effects seem to have been wearing off very very slowly. Small but Noticeable difference from day 1 to day 14.
I've tripped on shrooms a few times prior to this if it matters.
Please don't give input If you "heard from a friend that..." Something something. I prefer answers from people who have experienced this first hand for accuracy. I do appreciate input very much though either way!
I'm never tripping on anything ever again after this. Just smoking weed and drinking. Tripping just isn't for me, plus I'd hate to intensify these symptoms longer.
Based on that book I typed, how long until this visual stuff goes away in my case? I know it's a rough estimate but it will help me cope better!

I have had visual snow as long as I can remember. After my first experience with pot (I had a panic attack) , I began to notice it was much more intense.
I really think I just began to notice it more because I was looking for it. It was strongly tied to anxiety about having another panic attack.

Ive had it for years now as well. Its nothing intense but totally notice it. Especially in dimmer rooms. The tracers can persist for a while but they will more than likely fade in time. After acid binges I noticed strong tracers and auras for a while but always faded within a week generally. Not to say the same will be for you, I still get them once in a while out of the corners of my eyes especially outside or in bright rooms.
Those types of after effects can be normal after a good dose of psychedelics.

ive never had visual snow only hppd ive ever had is seeing faces in objects especially in the peripheral of my eye but it makes perfect sense why its happening. My pattern recognition is higher and its stimulating my minds facial pareidolia.
goes away after awhile or if i just dont smoke weed aha
i find it funny when people freak out about hppd, its really not a big deal and its NEVER permanent.
i love when i get hppd personally. are you sure you are not a hypochondriac? Im guilty of that :P
my advice is stop making a mountain out of a molehill and focus on something else
I think its silly to give up psychedelics over something as benign as HPPD but it's your life, your values. choose as you feel best

I dunno man actual, prominent HPPD is nothing that you would want and nothing to scoff at. It is distracting and uncomfortable and is often accompanied by anxiety and panic attacks

Anxiety and panic attacks are likely the result of poor diet. Too many carbs and sugar with not enough protein causes low blood sugar. The body puts out adrenaline to raise the blood sugar and anxiety and panic go along with it. Inositol, a B vitamin, is good for relieving anxiety and panic, it tastes sweet and isn't toxic. Low blood sugar can also affect the eyes.
Lacto/ovo vegetarian is the best kind of diet.

i suppose. But compare it to something like a headache. Nobody will have the opinion that they dont mind headaches or enjoy headaches because it is objectively terrible But with HPPD if you survey you will find people who say they dont mind the HPPD and some even claim to enjoy or welcome it. this says to me that a lot of the distress of HPPD is caused by people worrying about it and being fearful of it. It seems a lot of the discomfort people experience with HPPD is something they can choose not to have if they really wanted. but thats just my opinion. Psychedelics change how you see the world and some people might be fearful of those changes.

I've had "visual snow" for as long as I can remember. The days/weeks after dosing I definitely am more aware of it, but I don't think it causes it to act up really. It's more that I'm suddenly much more aware of the faults in my visual perception. It's likely that everyone has visual snow, most people are just so used to it they can't notice it. It's like if you suddenly realized you could feel your tongue in your mouth, you've never not felt it so it's not something you would think about.
My advice is to just relax. I remember when I was younger I would chase the walls breathing phenomenon (zoning out/unfocusing my eyes until weird stuff happened), before I ever touched any drugs. The first time after taking a bit too much acid I definitely would notice that feeling though and it would scare me, but after a long enough time I realized that I've always had these visual distortions, just never really noticed them. You may not be the same, but I would like to believe that all humans share the same flawed visual processing. It's nothing to worry about, you just notice it now. It can be tricky because you might associate it with anxiety, but that's more a problem of anxiety than HPPD.
