Day 10 after spawning to CVG and didnt case.
After searching and from how it look i think it could be wet bubble as i can see it getting bigger everyday since the day it appeared...BUT its not all over the tub as i have seen in the other pictures in the forum...so maybe its a bacterial contam!
You can see pins around it and the whole tub is full of pins and knots.

Another weird looking myc.

The whole tub from above and you can recognise the two bright white spots of the above two pictures.

Is it bacteria?
Should i produce more FAE?
Since there is ALOT of pins and knots should i wait maybe ill get a flush or something?
How to avoid this in the future?

Update:
Its getting bigger and now darker in color. And there are many yellow/orange tiny droplets on top that appeared too.
Still there is alot of beautiful clusters of pins in this tub thats growing can i wait to get a flush then toss it?

pour salt on that one with amber droplets and fruit it in another room.
keep an eye on the developing pins. don't mist it.
finish that flush though

the bubble u have that looks like this, but with amber drops:

dump salt on it. u can put a dixie cup or something over it after. keep an eye on the developing pins and if u start to see weird shit, put it outside.
its very important that you look at ur pins as they develop on that tub. thats going to tell you if this is a one off or something u may have missed on ur plates or in ur jars
somethings can hide very well. this was completely rhizomorphic and healthy looking before reaching the edge of the plate

I moved the tub to a small room that i dont use for anything.
I salted it and now it looks darker and slimy!
Can i mist the surface because it looks dry or this going to make it worse?
Here is a picture of the whole tub...you can see the two white bright myc, thise are the infected area, other than that there are a lot of pins and clusters!

So what do you think mate?
Thank you so much.

i would personally keep fruiting it in that seperate room until it was totally obvious that it was fucked.
as far as misting, if it was truly mycogone, then hell no. but that picture U just posted makes it look way better than the close up.
u have a nice spread as far as primordia formation, so ur conditions might be better than u think.
if u feel like you HAVE to mist, then cover that thing with a cup, mist from far away, lightly, just in case.

This stuff is bad to the bone!
Hoping it's not what you have but time will tell.

Man... I have a mini that did this. It's definitely mycogone right? I'm assuming it's nearly as spreadable as vert?

i think in my picture, there is vert too. that kind of grayish overtone on the cap's (first picture u can kind of make out more mature fruits, but at first glance, they look like grey blobs). then there are the new pins that look bright and vibrant. so i have no idea what kinda stuff was going on
pirates picture looks like classic mycogone. those amber drops are where the spores are held. but there can be similar symptoms with vert.
this is from a Penn state article:
Quote:
In some instances, despite whatever combination of control measures are used, Verticillium can run rampant throughout a growing room. Sometimes it is possible for every developing sporophore to be expressed as a bubble. In this extreme example, there is no point in continuing the crop, especially if no harvestable mushrooms are being produced. The room will have become an incubator for Verticillium spores and most likely will be producing flies that will further spread the spores and those of other molds. Trying to save old crops with this level of infestation will result in the continuation of the infection cycle. Steam the room early and eliminate this potential source of inoculum.
verticillium (dry bubble) and mycogone (wet bubble) seem to share a lot of characteristics, so I would treat them the same.

I have no idea but I did use a hard surface steam unit to go over my spawning area and the room I fruit in and it really helped with my Lencacillium issues. Not a cure but it became rarer.

that penn state example is an extreme case. since tubs are modular, and much more contained than a large GH with "open air" trays, chance of spreading is less….but its there
I had a pretty bad time with vert when I first started. I think what was happening was I didn't know what it was, so i kept misting. the spores were knocked up in the air, and as I pumped, it would suck in spore laden air for the next pump. unknowingly, I would mist all other projects at the same time, so I think that is how it spread for me.
as long as it's not a constant thing people see, I wouldn't worry. but if its popping up here and there, more and more, I would definitely look into cleaning that room as best as I could and double checking cultures…making sure they fruit clean on agar and just aren't behaving oddly.
edit: thats a good call with the surface steamer. way easier than bleach!

Eh I've always seen mycogone from time to time but I have had it pop up a little more often this summer after my good luck streak ran out. Then again I rarely grow during the summer, so it could just be a summer thing in general.

A newb question, if something like mycogone appeared do you also toss the tub or only the substrate then clean the tub with a bleach?
Update:
The bubble that i salted shrinked in size and producing liquids over and around it.
Other areas that i salted unlike the bubble bruised blue, maybe they were myc not contams...will post a pics soon.

update and pics:
the two areas infected: bubble shrinked in size and its color changed! this blue bruising and liquid werent there a couple of hours ago.

and here is pictures of blue bruising of myc or maybe bacteria reacting to salt, i doubted that those spots were infected too so i salted em, and there weren't pins or knots there anyway!
