Hi and welcome to the Shroomery!
Here is a very informational post on how to find active mushrooms, the post even includes a state-by-state guide.

Thank you. I did research mushrooms in my area in relation to the habitat and other identification techniques. Also I did read this link you suggested about two days ago but as you know mushroom classification is broad. Are there any books you might suggest, perhaps ones you may own or already read?

These are all over my pasture as well. None of them bruise blue either. I have done some extensive reading the past few days because I thought my pasture had cubes. However I waited to late to get a good look and they dried up. It' has started raining again last night. All of the mushrooms I thought to be possible cubensis reluctantly did not share the same golden top as other pictures. I thought they could possibly be chlorophyllum molybdites. However those also are growing on manure.

Did you click through the links at the bottom of the post as well? Mushroomexpert and mushroomobserver and this site itself are fantastic free, online resources and are updated frequently with new information. These resources have so far been sufficient to feed this healthy fascination with mycology.
Hope this helps!

I have several books and i think the internet is by far the best resource. For me it's easier to use the information and much faster. With books you only get limited info. Don't get me wrong. Books are great resources. It's just the internet is vastly bigger with many sources of input on any given subject.
