Mirror obsession
    #2357750 - 02/20/04 03:32 AM (13 years, 4 months ago)

I have an obsession with looking in mirrors and constantly looking at pictures of myself. I don't think its necessarily vanity and i'm a pretty confident person. Does anyone else have this? I think i spend too much time doing this. What the heck is wrong here? I want to stop, but i'm like addicted.

It might stem from some insecurity you have/had. Maybe you weren't always as good looking as you are now (if you are good looking now that is) and you're just happy to see a positive difference?

what bert said, I have the opposite sort of thing I hate looking in mirrors and at pics of myself. I used to think I was ugly but have recently realised I'm not that bad. I do have to say I like stupid photos of myself though

Are you narcissistic? Narcissus fell in love with his image in a pond, so the story goes.

I think its natural, we are all obsessed with ourselves.
As we get older we become more and more conscious and aware of ourselves.  Plus mirrors are cool

I had a parrot that did the same thing. Question. Do you bob your head, or move it side to side when looking?

i think it might be the opposite, actually.
I used to be thin and used to think i was hot shit,
now i've put on weight and think people think i look fat or something. I don't know. I'm healthy now though so its ok

It's cuz your hot. I look at myself all the time, and I guess I have a lot of pictures of myself in my room too, so I have no choice but to look. I think its pretty normal, except when I look at pictures I think, wow I looked good there and then I look in the mirror and think, what the hell happened?

I'm always lookin at myself in the mirror too, I don't think I'm great looking, but I guess I'm not bad.  I usually do it because i'm obsessing about my hair, always playing with it or whatever.

You probably look at yerself just cuz yer sexy, if I looked like you I'd have mirrors everywhere and I'd never have to leave the house.

BTW, I asked my sister and she does it too, but not only does she look in mirrors, but she has to look in every mirror and window she passes, and her friends have pointed out that she repeatedly looks at pictures of herself and will pull them specifically out of a pile of photos, so we decided that yeah your normal.
