The Mounties really got smoked last night. Pretty dang embarrassing actually. Oklahoma was ready for the big time game and we weren't. We had so many dumb mistakes and extremely poor qb play. Plus our coach didn't have the team prepared at all. Which is a shame because we are better then that. Just a pitiful performance from start to end. It would have been nice at a shot of the big 12 championship. I'm still not completely sold as holgerson as a head coach he has gotten better over the years but he has a long way to go. Hopefully they can finish strong with games with Iowa state and Baylor for the next two. I can't complain about being 8 - 2 with the possibility of going 10 or 11 and 2 I just hope we don't come unraveled from this beat down. Next year we should have a lot better play at the qb position which has been inconsistent this year, the Florida qb transfer we got is supposed to be big time. He was 6 - 0 at florid before being suspended and was a 5 star recruit coming out of high school. And our best in the big 12 defense (although looked pitiful last night). Should be better also.
Just hoping for a strong finish and possible high ranking going into next season. It's hard being a mountaineer fan they alway find a way to break the fans hearts. All I want is a National Championship in my lifetime and I will be happy, we've been close on quite a few occasions but never quite made it over the hump. Anyways hope the rest of the season has some good games and hopefully the playoff committee doesn't screw it up too bad, but I'm thinking they will.

Big 10 has 3 teams in the top 5 for the first time in 56 years, but IMO OSU is the only one who would have any decent chance of beating Bama.

UTC beat the shit out of Bama injury wise. Left tackle Cam Robinson and right guard Korren Kirven both left the game with shoulder injuries.
The injury list is quite extensive. Luckily the Crimson Tide are pretty deep with talent....

I think Michigan held them on that 4th and 1. Bad spot.

Kentucky is one of those teams that opposing coaches may find it hard to prepare for psychologically. They may not be over the hump but they've been improving year after year. Come in with the wrong attitude and they'll surprise you.

This top 4 by committee shit is really getting old. Maybe it creates intrigue for a lot of fans but I'm fucking bored with it.

How many teams do you think the playoffs should encompass?

I don't think they should have a playoff or a national champion. I think they should only have conference champions and then bowl tie ins based on conference ranks.
If you insist on having a national championship the power conferences and the group of 5 should never play one another. It's stupid to have a set up where you can go unbeaten and untied and not even get to play for the "championship".
In order to find a national champion there would have to be radical realignment schedule reform.
They could make every conference regional and have the same number of teams in each, have 8 conferences and have the conference champions square off in a playoff.
They could abolish the conferences and use a computer to schedule the entire season at random then take the 16 teams with the winningest records (with built in tie-breakers) and throw the top 16 into a playoff.
But just sticking with ideas that could realistically happen I would say increase the playoffs to 8 teams. The power 5 champions automatic and 3 at large bids with any undefeated group of 5 team also automatically included.

As a Michigan fan looks like I'm reduced to rooting for either Virginia Tech over Clemson (no way that happens) and Colorado over Washington (could happen).
Michigan's 5th in the latest playoff ranking, so they need help. If Washington does lose, though...and I swear I'm being as unbiased as I possibly can -- Michigan really has the best argument among all two loss teams, don't they?
They've played 4 of the top 8 teams. FOUR. 3 of which they won (beat Penn State by 39, beat Colorado by 17, and squeaked by Wisconsin), and the one team they lost to was on the road against the 2nd ranked team in the country, a game in which they led for all of it but like literally 4 minutes, and it went to double overtime.
But if Washington wins then I guess it's a moot point because then the Huskies would surely get that #4 playoff seed.
Fucking Michigan...if they wouldn't have blown that game against Iowa they wouldn't even need any help, smh.

Yes Michigan is the best two loss team. If Washington loses I think Michigan will get the playoff spot. As crazy as this sounds I think it's possible Michigan jumps Washington even if Washington wins. Doesn't make sense but I think it's possible.
