They lost to Bama by 19. That was just a publicity ploy by the playoff committee

BAMA LSU is a completely irrelevant game because they won't count the loss against either team.

It was a great game, though. Exactly what I want out of a football game.

I enjoyed the hell out of it. That last drive gassed LSU. They were huffin' and puffin' with their hands on their hips, lol.

Yesterday was a a good football game lots of close games and a lot of the big boys go down. My we mountaineers pulled one out at Texas. And I never complain about officiating, but that game was home cooked from the beginning. I expected Texas to get some calls because, well, their Texas but it was pretty sad. Three more wins and the Mountie dogs might be going back to the sugar bowl. Oklahoma at home Iowa state away then Baylor at home. No gimmies by any means.
Also a good chance college game day will be in Morgantown next week. Either way mountaineer field will be rocking. If the big 12 wasn't so down this year we might have had a shot at a playoff spot. Haven't had this much optimism in Morgantown in a long time. Next year may be our year though everyone back on offense except for the qb who will be replaced by Florida transfer Will Grier. A lot of hype surrounding him he was highly recruited by everyone out of high school plus looked pretty dang good at Florida. Receiving core and running backs coming back will be some of the best in the country too. And the defense has been pretty damn stout all year even after loading 4 players to the draft. Not since 2011 and have we had so much optimism.

There is going to be controversy no matter how the committee ranks the top four tomorrow.
The only sure thing is Alabama is going to be #1.
I heard Saban was going to rest his starters against Auburn.

Updated playoff rankings after the smoke cleared from this weekend:
1. Alabama 2. Ohio State 3. Michigan 4. Clemson 5. Louisville 6. Washington
Alabama, obviously. Ohio State jumps from the outside looking in to #2. Michigan was really fortunate that Clemson & Washington lost (likewise for Clemson that Washington lost). The big loser is Washington. No shame in losing to a good USC team, but they were at home and had a prime opportunity to jump all the way to 2...but now they're on the outside looking in.
Nevertheless gonna be a wild ride to the finish line.

The college football playoff committee ranking y'all 14 is a serious fucking insult.
And I'm going to go ahead and name names. The following are teams the playoff committee has ranked above The Mountaineers that shouldn't be:
USC (3 losses!) Utah Colorado Penn State and fucking #4 Clemson

Clemson lost to Pitt for fuck's sake! And they had close calls with NC State and fucking Troy. Jesus Christ. Troy. 30-24

Watch Lamar Jackson take the cards to the playoffs and heat up... It's totally possible. However, I don't see any team beating Bama.

Those ESPN dudes were saying Lamar going Cam Newton on them is the only way Bama can lose.

I've been saying this to my Bama friends since game 4 of this year.

That's part of the reason the Tide defense has been revamping itself to deal with the dual threat quarterbacks for the last couple years.
I'm still looking forward to an Ohio State rematch though, lol.
