Red Milo (sorghum) NUTRITION INFORMATION Serving Size: 1 cup (192g) Calories - 651 Protein - 21.7g Total Carbohydrates - 143g Total Fat - 6.3g Calcium - 53.8mg
Rye Berries NUTRITION INFORMATION Serving Size: 1 cup (169g) Calories - 566 Protein - 24.9g Total Carbohydrates - 118g Total Fat - 4.2g Calcium - 55.8mg
Wheat Berries NUTRITION INFORMATION Serving Size: 1 cup (180g) Calories - 600 Protein - 24g Total Carbohydrates - 128g Total Fat - 2g Calcium - 80mg
Red milo has more carbs than rye berries, so is red milo going to make my shrooms ass bigger? Rye has more protein, so would that make my shrooms stronger? Jokes aside, I know that we add gypsum because it provides calcium and sulfur and the myc/shrooms loves that shit. I figure higher calories means more yield, i dont know? But what about protein? Fat? Vitamins? Minerals? What nutrients provide a superior grain for cube cultivation?

doesn't seem to matter much. Genetics, conditions. and moisture content and delivery all play a bigger part.
whatever is affordable or cheap, easy to use for you, is your best choice. there's such marginal differences that over decades no grain has emerged as a proven winner. rye is touted only because RR preferred it, hence a lot of people preferring it. the difference in price between any kind of grain is bigger than the difference in performance because of the grain, so go with the cheap as well as easy to prepare option.
nutritional information isn't even in terms of what human biology gets out of the food through digestion.. it's just what science determined is in the food. let alone how the fungi will digest it.

Well, I've always valued your input bod. So I'll go with what you say. I guess in the end it doesn't matter.
