jerry never played pedal steel with the dead live....at least i'm not aware of any recordings, he did play on several recordings both with the Airplane and several other vinyl albums with various other artists.

Dam this is hard!
I've got it narrowed down to 24 possible songs and 95 versions! 
But the good news is I picked the first song !
Sick & Tired (A Pigpen oldie) from 5/19/66 at The Avalon Ballroom, runs 3:38

Maybe something from the Garcia & Grisman accoustic shows. Like the track "Take me Back" where they both play the banjos on 12-08-91 at Warfield San Fransisco... or Jack-A-Row from that show, or Louis Collins by Mississippi John Hurt that they cover.. shoot that whole show is amazing you could pick any track off it.
