I have developed an interest for watches... Some are truly amazing. * 3
    #23575302 - 08/25/16 08:28 AM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Take a look at these pictures. How fucking awesome are these watches?

I would be honored to have any of these watches on my wrist. You automatically become a better person with one of these things. The craftsmanship needed to design and build these things is beyond me...

Woaaa. I don't even like watches and I'd sport one of those.
I don't know about "being a better person" just by wearing one...

Looks like over-engineered, overly flashy rubbish to me. What's wrong with a plain watch? Reading a plain watch face is hard enough when tripping, let alone one of those monstrosities...

Very cool. I have a watch that resembles the second one.
It's an automatic, which is what I prefer.
However the weight on the automatic winding mechanism (ignorant of the proper term) came detached so I need to have it repaired.

I love watches that show the internals instead of having a boring plain face.

I bought this one a few years ago, paid 250, it's the same color as this pic too. The back is clear so one can see the inside. I rarely wear it, just wanted a nice watch for interviews, events/parties and such. I need to get the leather band, the metal one is very heavy and makes my wrist sweat.

I've been increasingly interest in the image I project to the world. For example, clothing, which I never had any interest in before, is now getting more enjoyable to shop for. Enough of the jeans T-shirt thing. I want to look classier.

I had a cheapy Russian assembled (hong kong clockworks) Orion watch, silver and blue, glass instead of quartze faceplate skeletal watch with a 36 hour spring.

Man I loved that watch, it was about two minutes too fast until the faceplate cracked, then it was no longer hermetically sealed, and kept perfect time. Fucking thing got broken by my dad, and Orion have ceased to be.

I paid £13 for it, as it was listed as 30$ us. I'd love that watch again.

Pretty much, it's just jewelry that tells time really. It looks good with a suit in an interview, and at a fancy party, but how many of those will I go to in my TIME here on earth? It will last me a lifeTIME! LOL, I'm killing me!

what a racket that rolex is! :jawdrop: Not nearly as cool as the ones patlal or others posted.

I'd love to have an ornate watch, but it would have to be done so well that it just blends right in, something you would never notice unless you observed me closely. Also, watches are kind of strange to me, to have a constant reminder of time passing. I check my phone often enough for the time though, so I can see the use in having a watch.

Here's a much more cost effective alternative if you're on a budget.

https://www.amazon.com/Rolex-Submariner-Automatic-Oyster-Solid/dp/B0069AICIM/ref=sr_1_19?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1472171170&sr=1-19&nodeID=7141123011&keywords=rolex

It's a very affordable $26,300.

For the truly enlightened amongst us:

--------------------
Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

There's something terribly wrong about a world where one can spend $25,000,000 on a fucking ugly cunt of a useless object like this:

World's most expensive watches

I figure the £1000 rule is good here. I only spend more than £1000 on things that are really important to me (like motorbikes or tattoos). Everything else must come in at the sub-£1000 limit - cars, laptops/computers, holidays, watches, motorbike upgrades, etc.

If I can't get something perfectly fucking adequate in this world for £1000, I must be doing it wrong. Other than a house or something, there's always exceptions to the rule.

What the fuck is Spago? I know most high end restaurants in Dallas...

Hit up Stephan Pyle's.
They serve my Mom's wine there (Wrath).

Patlal thanks for sparking the wonder and creativity points in man brain!

Truly beautiful, functional pieces of art. The most beautiful art teaches us how to understand the world, and these watches do just that.

Everything I said in this thread was pretty much bullshit, home slice.

I don't hang out in Uptown. I don't own anything in Uptown. Haven't been to LA in years. I'm single. Never been to Spago. Didn't do any dry humping. And I damn sure can't afford any of those watches I linked, and nor do I have a private jet.

However I am a still a douche bag and I can afford a Fossil watch if that counts for anything.
