So from what i can tell since rye popcorn and brf is tried and tested.  Were looking for high cal with almost no fat.  I notice the wheat has no sugar. Which is interesting.  And the barly has even lower fat then the others.

I wouldn't consider popcorn "tried and tested"  It's basically confirmed to suck by committee.

Ok. Ive read mixed on popcorn.  What are your
Oppinions on imortant factors of spawn

Im thinking that absorbency has alot to do with it.  But cant turn to mush.
Cal and carbs.  Im curious about sugar.  I have both rye amd wheat berries going and
Both seem good.  Theres Also hemp seeds but they have high fat.  I can only seem to get hulled
Of that. Maybe mixed in with millet

I can think of ways to test.  But with so many varying factors.  You almost have to do atleast 6 jars
Of each spawn.  3 different strains at least.  An it Still wouldnt beEntirely accurate.

For now Im in no position to do this. Merely thinking out loud.  Ive search but have only found comparisons between 2 spawns. 3 at most.  Rye/wheat vs wbs and the likes.  Ive found some interesting posts.  Ill have to grab the links.

I've tried them all besides plain Milo.

Wbs is dirty but easy to find for all.

Grass seed is small and works great but down side is cost and finding it most of the year.
Rye berries and wheat work the same with rye being harder to find and a higher cost.
Oats are easy to find in farming area and are important when water content is hard to get just right and cost less then most mono grains.
Pop corn and whole corn have advange of high surface area so colonized quicker, but needs more spawn to make the magic happen for the sub. With g2g being the best for the way you expand. Whole corn is the cheapest but the worst spawn, popcorn is ok but cost silmar to grass seed and rye.
Cracked corn is second cheapest and is great spawn with easy prepared grain work. Runs about 6.8 cents a pound. Its yeild is great it was my bread and butter. Down side is it sticks together like glue so g2g takes longest with cracked corn and most of the time is impossible to do so.
Millet is great and small but prepared work load is more and hard to get right. Down aide of millet is price and hard to find. There is more grains but my minds blaking out.
Oh and other similar spawn like beans has no upside but down side is easy contams. For cubes and not osyter corn cob spawn is feasible. Best part is quickly colonized but needs to be cleaned culture to work. Also corn cob has the lowest yield of anything.
Whole rice brown or white is good yielding spawn with easier then birdseed to find. Down side is very hard moister content and price is slightly higher but still not bad.
Cardboard spawn is stupid for most species. Yeild sucks, effect sucks, but its free.
Flax seeds and thirst seeds are to oily to work most of the time and are costly. But if cleany colonized are great for tippy milk shakes. Never was able to fruit them.
Poppy seeds are hard to find and cost a higher amount. Yeilds are lower but fast colonized can't to g2g with. But interesting to do .
Pumpkins seeds are hard to colonized, high cost plus make hard spawn to sub colonized. But alway able to find.
