Ok so today I went to my field and found alot of perfectly preserved dried cubes (sun dried them as they stood) I pulled the dried mushies up, clearly seeing the dry blue ends.
Ok so everyone says to turn the heating element off, when drying.
Does the sun and natural drying as this effect the potency with natural sun heat? or does this just save me a step haha. Can I just toss em in the black rhino bed of my truck and let that heat dry em too? (I've done this b4). But friends ate them.
Thanks bros.

Potency loss won't be noticeable even if you were to deep fry them, which there is even a recipe for.

I think it's something like 320 degrees before the actives start to degrade.

Psilocybin has a melting point of 365F in methanol and 428F in water. Given that the actives are all trapped inside a mushroom containing water it is probably safe to assume that the melting points of the psilocin and baeocystin in water are probably a bit higher than the methanol numbers like with psilocybin.
Now, what most people fail to realize is that the melting point is not where the actives are destroyed!! A pile of unmelted crystals will have the same effect when consumed as the same volume of crystals that has been melted and cooled and re-crystallized. Think about sugar. You can melt a pile of sugar at low heat just above the melting point and let it solidify again into one solid crystal(as long as you don't overheat it and caramelize it). An effect similar to caramelization won't happen when deep frying cubes as the actives will be protected by the water content of the mushrooms as well as the batter and won't reach that high of a temperature point unless you burn the fuck out them and let the oil get dangerously hot to the point of possibly starting a fire in your house!

Deep fried shrooms I could get myself in trouble with those
