Ive had benzos kill a trip in t-minus 30~ minutes. Ive tried taking benzos before trips, and upping the dosage of the lsd and it didn't really blow me away. It really helps to keep me straight just knowing there is a benzo on hand. Ive had times where im with someone whos tripping in a bad way, and i ask if they wanna xanax, they seem to look funny like you have xanax??? And minutes later just knowing its on hand shit is under control again

For me, weaker slower acting benzos like ativan take the edge off for example, in an anxious terror trip that I'm having trouble handling things in public.
Faster, stronger benzos like xanax will totally end the trip with even a tiny dose.
Keep in mind I have no benzo tolerance and the only time I use them is for a trip insurance policy.
It is very reassuring to have that ejection handle in your pocket. I talked a friend out of a really bad trip moment just by reminding him that I had his back and that if he was too freaked out I had a xanax with his name on it. That reassurance pretty much brought him out of a bad place and he had an awesome time the rest of the trip.

psilocybinjunkie said: I mean if you are having an absolute terror trip they can help. Taking them is counter productive to tripping and you should just ride out the bad trip and learn from it. It is not a bad idea to keep one on hand just in case, but you should do your best to soldier through the trip without a benzo. So it can help, but isn't something that should be used often. I would say just quit tripping if you aren't enjoying the experience and feel the need for other drugs to cancel out the trip.

Ride out the storm. You are, hopefully, taking these drugs for insight and not just a party enhancer. If you cut the class short, how do you expect to learn what it is trying to teach you. As said, if you're uncomfortable going there, then don't.
