Possible Pluteus Americanus?
    #23569460 - 08/23/16 03:17 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Found these growing out of a decaying log that was so wet you could squeeze water out of it.
Located in the woods on old trails with plenty of shade and rotting wood. Was actually looking for this species in particular, so it would be pretty cool if I found em. New to this. Any help appreciated.

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Directly out of a rotting log.

Gills:
Gills are pink, free from stem.

Stem:
2 inches at longest, white, POSSIBLE bruising- probably not, solid.

Cap:
1 inch, was grey when growing, turning dark brown/grey after picking.

Spore print color:
Not very apparent on foil, pinkish forsure.

Bruising:
Greyish/greenish blue

Other information:
Smells like fresh cubensis slightly- not very strong

I have looked at nearly every useful post having to do with Pluteus Salicinus/Americanus for the past week lol
It seems this mushroom likes to have different appearances, and some say it commonly bruises blue, while others say it bruises about as much as a subb.
Waiting on the spore print to come out better until I am even a bit positive on anything.

It is definitely a pluteus and will have pinkish spores.
