Just posted this in another picture thread.
Came across a giant centipede in my p. alba pot while I was watering. He crawled out from under the leaves and dangled on that branch to avoid the water and dry out I suppose, it hung there for a good while before I moved it.

It was still moving slow from the water, otherwise I wouldn't have put my hand that close to it.

They have a poison, but it's not a danger to humans. Just really painful, from what I understand.
Someone that's allergic to insect stings might have a bad reaction, but they're no more dangerous than the average wasp or scorpion.
They're pretty intimidating, but they really are quite stunning up close. I think they're pretty neat.

Yeah, I'd choose a wasp or scorpion sting over a centipede any day.

Not that they creep me out. far from it. But
I dont like bugs. Period. too many to get rid of so i just kill them any chance i get. Wxcept lady bugs, mantises, and spiders on my plants. But thats it.

I was at my sister's house today, she's got this big, healthy pumpkin patch that she took great care of this year. However, despite being really large, great vegetation, tons of flowers for the past month, there is exactly one pumpkin in it! It's really funny. It's a big pumpkin, though.
Anyway, took this pic of a bumblebee chillin in one of the flowers.
