Is there something about being inside a big city that inspires you?

Being inside a big city does inspire me. Or at least seeing the skyline. I moved around a lot when I was younger but all the places I lived were mostly small towns. There's something about being in a big city that reminds me of how big the world is.
It's also interesting to study the history behind a specific study and understand why it became so big in the first place (usually for economic reasons).
I figure most people around here would prefer small towns or more scenic areas, but just thought I'd ask if anyone knows where I'm coming from.

Naw, not really. It's always a huge sigh of relief to stumble on a green belt or a lake shore or something.

For some reason, yeah. I'm a fan of big downtowns. I'd love to have a nice little high rise studio with a patio overlooking the heart of a major downtown area. Something like this would be so great to me.

I would just love to be in the midst of a trip and be able to walk out to my porch for a smoke...and be able to gaze down at downtown.
That said if I had to choose one or the other between big city living and majestic nature...it would have to be majestic nature. Ideally though if I was loaded financially I'd have a spot in both.

I like nature. Trees, rivers and shit. But there is something magical whenever I go to Chicago and come up on the city. There is just something beautiful about what humans can accomplish when they work together.

Yes. so much - the good and the bad inspire me. The people who are doing things, creating art and music, forming collectives, creating a local scene and network of concerts and shows and awesome shit that goes on in all the nooks and crannies of any big cities underground art and music scenes - the people who are creating community gardens, food co-ops, who are trying to bring sustainable living a little closer to city folks. Seeing the buildings, the history, being able to stumble around this giant playground, meeting people from all walks of life going through the highest and lowest moments of the human spectrum, and seeing them all interact.
I will be honest there are times when I feel a bit discouraged or cranky from the attitude, the crowds, the smells, the general obstacles that come with living in a big city that you don't really think about till you're there, it's a real mess, but I think it's kind of a beautiful chaos, and I realize that if I let it get me down too much I'll just add to the negativity. And I've noticed that people here tend to either turn into an angry rushed fed up city person or they are really warm hearted, or they decide they get tired and then either move a little further out of the craziness.
I have seen some real shit go down as a random bystander, have been robbed at gunpoint, have been aggressively followed home late at night, and all in all got a stark lesson of how terrible humans can be when I first moved, and honestly the blight and the crime and the awfulness also inspired me, David Lynch lived here as an art student in the '60's when it was quite a bit worse, and he repeatedly states how horrible a place Philly is, but also how much it inspired him - I lived in the same neighborhood he did in the '60's and there were a lot of similarities between how it made me feel and how he tends to describe it(it was more creepy than dangerous when I lived there) - here's a nice page of quotes that talk about the sort of inspiration gleaned from the terribleness of blighted areas.

Same. One thing that drives me insane is NYC litter and garbage. I have no idea who the fuck is being paid to clean the place.
Most filthy city in the USA.

City boy, I think you meant city boy. You know, those things with the XY Chromosomes and penises at birth. Male and Female. Biological sexes. Don't worry tho, you're not the first to confuse the two.

I really don't care what you think and to think you think you can change minds on this is adorable and naive. keep on living the lie thinking that you have any say in the matter. Every argument you have I have read before and really don't give a shit. I'm so fucking happy, and you mean nothing to me And it's really easy to maintain.

no. all words. just words.
gender is a concept in language. that is all. within biology, you can end up with any various gender associations.
the associations were made a particular way to suit grammar.
why is it that plants can have multiple organ systems?
because Peyote Zen doesn't know wtf he's talking about.
why is it that men are weak for pussy?
because men are not staple or uniformly created within gender paradigms. nor Women.
get with the times.

Just sayin'. If it's got that XY, it has a penis. And if it has a penis, it's a boy. The doctor didn't wait 20 some odd years to ask you what gender you identify with. He just looked with his own two eyes, determined the genitalia, and then said "Congratulations, it's a boy". And there's not a person on earth who could have reasonably disputed his claim.
No value judgement here. Just being factually correct.

no no no. don't be daft.
the doctor didn't wait some years to identify with his own two eyes...he went to train with an eye for healing his patients, and the babe is essentially, you, me, we're all huge walking parasites.
cut from the womb, we are determined, legally, with documentation, what are our identifying markers and names are. we are determined, from our organs, what sex we are. gender associations are left and/or right from there.
say 'are' more, holy fuck. what the fuck, am i turning into a pirate with all this oil...am i in bat country?

Haha, damn dude you're overthinking this. There are boys and there are girls. There are some boys who think they are girls and there are some girls who think they are boys. But it doesn't make it so. You can even spend thousands of dollars to force your body to contort, but that just makes you a dickless boy with a boob job and an estrogen spike.
Again, not judging, just trying to be truthful.

Factually correct doesn't matter when I consider you socially meaningless, which is also a fact. The fact you care so much makes me believe YOU are trans (to some degree) and you are using a combo of pseudo-science and social opinions to feel more comfortable in your male body. I think the fact you are so invested in this make me believe you are scared to admit you are actually gender fluid.
The only people I have met online this invested as you are people who want to murder me or put me in a coma The fact you are not that violent about it makes me think you are not trying to resolve my issues but you're own.
The reason why you should shut up is because I know all your arguments. I've been reading about this for 16 years. You have said nothing.

no, what you are doing is boiling down a complexity into easy equations.
thing is, it's a fallacious equation.
girls have a range of thoughts. boys also have a range of thoughts. some thought-patterns broaden in different lengths and degrees, in either or sex, and they are tailored to specifics by what they engender from their environment, but also, from what is attributed to them by their genetic make-up, their hormonal make-up.
men are also alike women just with expanded clits. how is that for truth? (though, and then some, of course, due to development in the womb.)

would explain all the religious fervor. good thing to pour into all that extra guilt and fear.
