Monotub question. How does this look? Question about water in tub

There are some water droplets forming on top of the substrate. In the corners there is also some water that comes up if I gently press on it. How does this look?

Those water droplets on the surface are essential for having a good pinset.

It's been about 10 days now. Do you think I'm good to start fruiting?

No, you are good to start fruiting when pins start to form (or are at least seeing primordia/knotting)

Or when fully colonized. Since fruiting conditions help with fruiting.

Lately I have been doing fruiting conditions from spawn with good results.

Yeah same. Which is why I mentioned fruiting conditions help with fruiting. Pinning times are damn near cut in half that way.

You guys put into fruiting when you spawn? Or when you case?

Never mind I re read and you already clarified. Any issues with contamination like this? It seems kinda scary

I agree that it seems scary lol I just spawned a tub 2 and a half days ago and after reading what you guys said I'm tempted to just stuff the jokes with poly now instead of waiting.

Scary?
What's scary about it exactly? You already put your grains and your bulk in open air when you spawned them. A coir top layer or a casing layer is a good idea if doing this, yes. Not because there's anything scary, but to help retain the moisture that you'd otherwise lose by exposing to fruiting conditions immediately.
Increased FAE is a good thing, helps keep nasty shit from taking a foothold. So, it's less scary than closing up a wet box of substrate.

Does your sub ever become fully colonized doing this? Or it doesn't matter. It's just sounds scary because it goes against most info on spawning. But if it's better than why not

Not.. sure the context in which you're asking this. My substrates always become fully colonized. If they didn't, I would suspect them contaminated and toss them. Casing layer should still be partially colonized if one is used though. Lately I haven't really given a shit and I let those fully colonize too. No real harm.
Doesn't seem to matter much in the end.
This really only works particularly well for cubes, not all species would respond well.
Just realized you're probably asking if they pin before full colonization, no they don't. Full colonization is the biggest pinning trigger.

You got it! Was wondering when it would start to fruit, introducing fae right after spawning. That's a good looking tub.

I've always ran into 2nd flush humidity issues when trying to open up FAE at spawning.
How about you guys? Are you misting to get through the 2nd?
