I want to gamble on who wins the presidental election and becomes our next president.
Is this a legal gambling option like sports gambling?

Not sure about betting agencies in the States, but bookies are offering odds for it in the UK (legit and legal). Can't see why it wouldn't be possible in the US.
You sound like you've got some good inside knowledge on the matter eh

This boat has kind of sailed, IMO. Unless you think someone other than HRC is going to win. She used to be at -260, very doable to make some money. Now she is at -450, which is just ridiculous. If you think a republican will take it, you could make some serious money, granted, they actually have to win hehe
You most certainly can bet on the outcome, and other political bets as well; Try Bovada, they are one of the most reputable online sportsbooks there are. I am kind of disappointed i couldnt take HRC in the 200s, but it just didnt naturally work out, so cant feel too bad over it.

Yeah you can bet on it but it is too late. Trump is dropping lower every day. There is no money to be made betting on Hillary because of the odds. If you disagree go ahead and bet. You either lose all your money or you make almost nothing betting on the favorite.

When Trump annouced the Vegas odds were 100-1 for him winning the republican candidacy and 250-1 for him winning the presidency. II really wanted to bet 250$ on it.
I didn't... I would have already made 25000$ off the candidacy...

Clinton is the big fave, paying about 1:3.
The Donald is at 3:1.

That is fucking INSANE!!!
We need a thread where we can post for Shroomerites to invest their money, should they choose, on what we think are good bets. Bitcoin is one of the things that, fuck if I just put $500 towards it, rather than towards nitrous oxide, I would be fucking rich. I remember hearing about it and brushed it off. Same with trump. Whats $20 to win $2000???

Well you're not going to get rich betting on Trump, but the margin does go up every week, because Hillary's polling average over Trump is steadily increasing. If you bet on the person who is supposed to lose, you definitely "could" make more money than if you bet on the person who is supposed to win; same as sports.
And nobody asked but I'm still going to say this. The margin of error inherent in any single scientific survey is basically reduced to zero when 10 reputable polling companies are reaching the same conclusion. Margin of error is based on the small possibility that any random sample could be non representative through pure chance. But when 10 companies each do their own random sample, the margin of error turns into one out of a 100,000 or something, compared to a single survey where the margin of error is either 1 or 5 percent depending on assumptions built into the model.
